DOE and Federal Science Funding Webinar
Please join us Monday, Feb. 22 at noon to learn about the national science enterprise and the federal budget process for science with Gary Geernaert, Ph.D., director of the Earth and Environmental System Sciences Division in the U.S. Department of Energy. Dr. Geernaert will share clues on federal priorities for research and development that involve the DOE. He will also illustrate some of the key points of the federal science funding process and how best to interact with DOE programs. *Sponsored by UNR.

Gary Geernaert, Ph.D.

Gary Geernaert is director of the Earth and Environmental System Sciences Division in the U.S. Department of Energy. In this role, Dr. Geernaert oversees basic science research involving atmospheric, climate and environmental sciences at DOE National Laboratories and Universities.

Objective - Learn how to use the UNIX command line interface, analytical workflows and public tools to independently analyze RNA-Seq data, conduct 16S community profiling, whole genome meta-genomics/transcriptomics analysis, and visualization.
