On Friday July 25th, 2025 The U.S. Department of Education announced it will release the remaining $5 billion (approximately) in title grant money that had been withheld from funding K-12 education programs for the 25-26 school year.
These critical funds support teacher professional development, migrant education, English language learners and other enrichment programs. The delay had caused significant disruption and uncertainty for school districts across the country, drawing widespread criticism for its last minute timing and lack of explanation. Following mounting pressure from lawmakers, school officials, and advocacy groups, the Trump administration reversed course and is scheduled to release the funds this week.
This outcome is a powerful reminder that advocacy works—when we raise our collective voices, we can make a real difference. We are deeply grateful for your help in advocating for the release of these essential funds that support students and schools across the country.
