One Fifth of World Population Celebrates
Lunar New Year!!!
In many Asian countries, including Vietnam, China, Korea, Mongolia as well as the Asian diaspora are celebrating the lunar New Year this week. In Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia and Cambodia, people celebrate Lunar New Year by watching fireworks, dragon dances, cooking traditional foods and exchanging red envelopes. All these visible celebrations of Lunar New Year cater heavily to Chinese traditions.
It is an exciting time of year as the scattered population of Chinese people across the globe celebrate the onset of the New Year with lion dancers to bring good luck and firecrackers to frighten away bad spirits.
