About the Instructor

Woody has earned two degrees: a degree in business administration and a degree is Culinary Arts. He is a dual-designated appraiser with the Appraisal Institute. He started his career in Hampton Roads, VA, working for a small fee practice that mainly focused on mortgage-use reports. In 2004, he co-founded and managed what became a highly successful residential fee practice, FM & Associates, Inc., with a strong portfolio of lender and non-lender clients. He sold his interest in his firm in 2008. He then transitioned into government assessment work, advancing quickly to executive-level management. Where he managed large staffs in all aspects of valuation, training, and appeals for the City of Suffolk, VA, and subsequently for the County of Albemarle, VA. Woody then took a promotion to work with the Virginia Department of Taxation, reviewing and consulting on Tax Credits related to conservation easement valuation. He lives in Charlottesville, VA, with his family, but splits his practice areas between the Charlottesville area and the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.
