Christian nationalist secretary of transportation and former reality TV star Sean Duffy continues his bizarre obsession with MRFF by placing a replica of the Merchant Marine Academy’s giant Jesus painting in his office — then running to The Christian Post
to make sure all the other Christian nationalist know
what a good little Christian nationalist he is!
In 2023, MRFF, acting on a complaint from an initial group of
17 alumni, midshipmen, faculty, and staff at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, a number that nearly doubled, succeeded in getting an enormous painting of Jesus moved from the
Academy’s administrative building to its chapel.
In April, Duffy visited the Academy, and speaking to a group
of Academy midshipmen, whipped them into a frenzy of
Christian nationalistic approval when he asked
“Can we bring Jesus up from the basement?”
Duffy has been milking the viral video of his USMMA Jesus painting performance ever since, even exploiting the solemn Christian
holy day of Good Friday to tweet the video again, along with
the blatant lie that the painting was moved because of a
“complaint from ONE ‘concerned citizen’”
