Moments that Matter
Meet Ti'yanna
Staff Member

As BGCWPA, our partners, supporters, donors, volunteers and staff continue to ReINVEST in our organization, we’d like to introduce you to Ti’yanna.

Ti’yanna has been a staff member at BGCWPA for almost a year after having met Dr. Lisa in high school. While Ti'yanna was not a BGCWPA member as a child, she participated in other after school programs in her community that provided her support that she needed to get off on the right track. Now a Sophomore at Duquesne University in Accounting, Ti’yanna has been given the opportunity to gain real life experience in the office and Accounts Payable departments of BGCWPA to determine her future aspirations, build her resume and help offset the costs of school books, tuition and her first apartment! She has also worked in a few of our Clubhouses as a youth development professional.

Ti’yanna shares “The staff at BGCWPA has become my mentors, supporting me in my studies, making sure I have an understanding of the real world, giving me people to talk to if I have any troubles and so much more.” Ti’yanna enjoys giving back to her community and working with youth even while attending school. Therefore, it is no shock that her favorite quote is “Push yourself, because no one else is going to do it for you.” We are so proud to have Ti’yanna on the BGCWPA team and know she will take what she has learned at Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania to make the world a better place!
Clubhouse Highlight
Somerset County Clubhouses
With the goal to ReINVEST in all of the communities that need us most in Western Pennsylvania, BGCWPA is proud to announce our merger and acquisition of two of Somerset County Boys & Girls Clubs, where BGCWPA will operate two Clubhouses.

At The Georgian Place Clubhouse, we run After School, Preschool and Teen Programming. STEM and Specialty Programming. In addition, BGCWPA will run more traditional After School programming at Eagle View Elementary School, a 21st Century Community Learning Center site that contracts with Boys & Girls Clubs. BGCWPA is especially excited to build new innovative teen programs in Somerset County where no other teen programs of this nature exist. Not only will teens have a fun place to go, they will also learn about careers, build skills and ensure they are physically and mentally healthy. They will be able to participate in programs like our Artificial Intelligence Pathways Institute, Positive Action Program and new apprenticeship programs in STEM, culinary & transportation/logistics!
Somerset County Boys & Girls Club Board Chair and BGCWPA Central Board Member, Chad Pritts, offers, “We are absolutely thrilled to join such a storied organization such as BGCWPA so that we can provide the youth of Somerset County with expanded and proven afterschool programming opportunities as well as a licensed preschool program. The affiliation with BGCWPA will provide us with the resources necessary to reach more families and improve our services, which will undoubtedly positively impact our communities for many years to come.”

Angela Weimer-Miller has been named the Somerset County Program Director and she adds, “I’m excited to merge with BGCWPA, we will have more resources to use and take advantage of, giving us more programs and opportunities to prove to the youth here in Somerset.”
BGCWPA looks forward to developing new partnerships in the Somerset area, in particular to those who can support the teen workforce development programs, and to expanding upon the BGCWPA school based programs located at Eagle View Elementary. In addition, BGCWPA looks forward to meeting our neighbors in surrounding communities with the possibility of expansion to other school based and partner sites. We are excited to bring you into our BGCWPA family, Somerset County!
