Dorothy P. Flint (DPF) Centennial Celebration

Labor Day Weekend 2024

A Message from the Camp Director:

Dear Friends and Family of Dorothy P. Flint 4-H Camp,

I am thrilled to extend a heartfelt invitation to each and every one of you to join us for a momentous occasion – the Centennial Celebration of our beloved Dorothy P. Flint 4-H Camp. As the Camp Director, I am filled with immense pride and excitement to share this milestone with the members of our expansive community.

For a century, our camp has stood as a beacon of learning, growth, and friendship, nurturing generations of campers in the embrace of nature and the spirit of 4-H values. This Centennial Celebration is not just about marking a hundred years of existence; it's about honoring the hard work, dedication, and love that have been the foundation of our camp since its inception.

Community, by definition, is a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals. Here at Dorothy P. Flint 4-H Camp, we embody this definition in every aspect of our operations. Our community is diverse, inclusive, and vibrant, made up of campers, staff, alumni, families, and supporters who all share a common bond: a deep connection to this place and to each other.

We have worked tirelessly to prepare an event that reflects the spirit of our community. It is an acknowledgment of not just our past, but of the future we are building together. We are eager to welcome everyone, regardless of whether you've been a part of our journey for years or are just getting to know us. This event is for you, for us, for every heart that beats in tune with the values and visions of the Dorothy P. Flint 4-H Camp.

Let us come together to share stories, reminisce about the past, and dream about the future. Your presence will be the greatest gift, enriching our festivities with the warmth and unity that make our community so special. Let's make this Centennial Celebration a testament to the enduring spirit of our community, and a beacon of hope and joy for the next century.

Warmest regards,

Collin Hedges

Support DPF

Camp turns 100 this year and we are rallying resources to return the property to a thriving space for kids and families year-round. We have a goal to raise $100,000 toward capital improvements to promote this goal. We have secured match funding and sponsorships of $25,000, including CCE Nassau's own contribution, and we need your help to raise the matching $25,000.

Funds will strengthen Camp's longevity and create spaces for new programs so the Long Island community can enjoy another 100 years of camping, connecting, laughing, and learning.

Please join us in maximizing every dollar in this unique opportunity.
