It's a book discussion (#thegreatteenread) solely on Instagram! We post a picture or a video of the month's teen title and you leave your comments. This month we will be reading "We Are Not Free" by Traci Chee.
Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, the lives of 14 Japanese-Americans will be changed forever. The country is in fear that all Japanese-Americans are spies, therefore, their communities are forced to register with the government, to abide by a curfew, then forced to relocate to interment camps.
Told from the perspective of each of the 14 teens, "We Are Not Free" details the fight to stay strong as a community amidst the horrors and the racial injustice.
