THANK YOU
We would like to thank Erica Higgins and Amy Benedict from our Hospitality Committee for providing snacks and coffee at this week's Freshman / Sophomore Parent Coffee. It was a wonderful meeting that provided the chance to hear from many students about their incredible learning experiences at DHS. Students spoke about electives, APs and club and extracurricular opportunities that allow them to explore their interests and pursue passions ranging from art, music, science, math, business, and the tech ed department. The guidance department also discussed the guidance seminar program that meets with different grade levels each quarter throughout the year.

In case you missed it, please check out the 2021-2022 Course Catalog for an overview of the classes offered at DHS, as well as DHS Graduation Requirements.

DHSPA VIRTUAL COLLEGE PANEL
HERE is a link for those who were not able to attend our recent college panel featuring several College Admissions Officers discussing the admissions processes and answering questions from parents and students on all aspects of college admissions.

THEATRE 308 PRODUCTION
Theatre 308 presents Mary Zimmerman's Metamorphoses, a modern interpretation of classic myths, featuring live music accompanying the storytelling. Performances will take place in the DHS Auditorium on Thursday, November 18 at 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at theatre308.org

SAVE THE DATE
In partnership with Staples and New Canaan High Schools and with generous support from the DHSPA, author Jeff Selingo has been invited for a virtual conversation about the current college admissions landscape. The event will be held on December 2nd at 7pm. Jeff Selingo is a New York Times bestselling author of three books. His latest book, Who Gets In & Why: A Year Inside College Admissions, (2020) was named among the 100 Notable Books of the year by the New York Times. While this event is most relevant to Juniors, the webinar link will be sent to all families on the day of the event.

AP EXAM REGISTRATION
AP exam registration is now open. In order to register for AP exams, please visit www.totalregistration.net/ap/070145. Each exam is $100. Students will need to complete two steps in order for us to order an AP exam: (1) registration and payment in Total Registration, and (2) enrollment in the AP Classroom for each course you are taking an exam in. The last day to order an exam for full-year courses without incurring a late fee is November 8th. After this time, the College Board will assess a $40 PER EXAM late fee. Please reach out to your school counselor with any questions.

SENIOR PORTRAIT SELECTION DEADLINE
The final deadline for senior portrait selection is December 15th. If you do not make a selection, the photo studio staff will make a selection using their professional judgement on the best photo. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Hernandez at rhernandez@darienps.org.
