Our thanks this week go to our Special Education reps Catherine Piorkowski, Lisa Cerussi and Lynne Andren for helping to promote this year's first Special Education discussion "DID YOU KNOW....About Special Education and 504 Best Practices at DHS?" with the DHS Special Education Department. And to our Hospitality chair, Christina Passaretti for providing coffee and snacks for the parents attending the meeting. In case you missed the presentation, click here for the recording. DARIEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS: VISION OF THE GRADUATE
This past spring, the Darien Public Schools adopted a 5-year strategic plan and a Vision of the Graduate for the district. In an era of rapid change to education and to the workforce, the Darien Public Schools recognized the need to identify through this Vision the skills and dispositions required to raise compassionate, resilient problem-solvers and leaders: Communication, Creativity, Curiosity, Empathy, Independence, and Integrity. It was adopted in late June and is filled with hope for the future and sets the pathway forward, clearly delineating the expectations we hold for our students. It is now our responsibility to bring it to fruition and make certain that we are providing learning opportunities in each competency and holding ourselves accountable to these promises. Click here to read the Strategic Plan.

DHS LGBTQIA+ PARENTS
Parents of children who identify (or think they may identify) as part of the LGBTQIA+ community: Please join us for our next gathering on Wednesday, October 27th at 7:30 pm at a local home. We are so pleased to have a representative from the Triangle Community Center coming to offer some education and resources to our parent community. We are strict in upholding the privacy of all who attend our gatherings. Please click here to RSVP to Julie Punishill for the address
