YouTube Channel
  
DPS has created a YouTube Channel and live-streaming capability, designed to bring additional transparency to the procurement process.
  
The DPS YouTube Channel, www.youtube.com/ChicagoDPS, will broadcast all City of Chicago bid openings.  Also broadcast will be 15 different workshops on procurement and certification related issues, at no cost to the public. 
  
DPS will share knowledge on governmental contracting policies and procedures in order to increase the existing vendor pool and maintain transparency in contracting.

Greater Chicago Food Depository
Food Drive 
 
The City of Chicago has once again teamed up with the Greater Chicago Food Depository to host a food drive that will help feed hungry men, women and children in Cook County.
 
DPS will be supporting the food drive by having a collection barrel in our office at City Hall, Room 806, Reception Area and the Bid & Bond Room 103. 
 
Our goal this year is to help the Food Depository collect 1 million meals worth of food. To help them reach that goal, we are trying to fill two barrels.
 
If you will be in City Hall we encourage you to bring can goods, or grab a bag and fill it up and return it before the end of the drive.
 
Please help us feed Chicago's hungry! The barrels will be picked up on Wednesday, December 9, 2015.
 
The Most Needed Items:  Canned Beans, Canned Fruit, Chili, Soup, Stew, Pasta, Tuna, Rice, Peanut Butter and Jelly

Consolidated Buying Plan

The consolidated Buying Plan builds on the City of Chicago's Buying Plan, which is a 12-16  month forecast of goods and services that the City plans to procure. 
 
This special Buying Plan includes the upcoming contracting opportunities for the City as well as eight additional government purchasing entities.

Look for upcoming pre-bid meetings.
Pre-Bid meetings are a good opportunity to meet the contractors who are going to bid on projects, especially if you are bidding as a subcontractor.  Also, as a contractor you get to hear all the details of the project and you have an opportunity to ask questions specifically relating to your business.
