TRUMP LIES ABOUT EVERYTHING!
Refute the Republican Rhetoric
By Bill Peifer
On Saturday morning, Trump posted:
The United States Park Police have arrested multiple individuals for vandalizing our Nations magnificent Reflecting Poll. Who would do such a thing? These are very serious crimes having to do with the destruction of National Monuments. Years in jail! Work will begin immediately on its repair. President DJT
Then, on Saturday evening he doubled-down with:
Many additional people have been arrested having to do with the disgraceful Vandalism of our beautiful Reflecting Pool. It hasn’t looked or worked like this since 1922, when it was originally built, but even then, it leaked badly, and didn’t work. Ours worked perfectly, including the mirror like finish, perfectly reflecting the two Great Monuments, which it never had before!
And then continued with:
They took some form of knife or blade, and put a 250 foot long gash into the beautiful facade of what took so much work, competence, and money to build and complete.
So, who has been arrested, and for what? To date, there is corroboration of one person who has been arrested. David Hearn, a 67-year-old three-time Olympian canoeist, was riding his bike past the pool when he noticed a chunk of some sort of rubbery substance in the water. As the owner of a company that manufactures a composite used to build watercraft, he was naturally curious. He got off his bike and investigated the piece in the water and, as soon as he touched the piece, was promptly arrested for allegedly vandalizing President Donald Trump's shining new Algae Pool.
'I didn't vandalize anything. I didn't destroy or break or peel anything. By the time I realized what was going on, I was being put in handcuffs,' Hearn said.
The last time that I looked, “one” was not the same as “multiple individuals” or the equivalent of “many additional people”. Touching a floating chunk of some super-secret rubbery material isn’t the same as cutting a 250-foot-long gash in a pool liner. Bottom line, Trump’s bungled “fixing” of the famous Reflecting Pool, with the almost immediate explosion of a horrendous algae bloom and then the liner splitting and coming detached, has earned this Washington D.C. landmark a new name. We should call it the “Deflecting Pool” since it’s diverted some attention away from the lost war with Iran and the massive, unreleased portion of the Epstein Files.
