Hello Fellow Democrats,
Early and absentee voting is DONE, with only Election Day voting remaining, and in Torrance County there are 1,846 Democrats who still haven’t voted! 556 of those Democrats are in County Commission District 1, where Albert Chavez is running against two MAGA candidates. 509 are in District 2, where I’m running against a Republican who thinks that he can solve our water crisis by praying for rain and approaches the lack of jobs by talking about babies crying in church.
We’re expecting both of those County Commission races, as well as Geno Jones’ race for County Assessor against the current Assessor’s hand-picked successor, to be extremely close. It’s possible that any one, two or all three, of those races could be decided by just one or two votes. If you haven’t voted yet, and don’t get a chance to vote tomorrow, how will you feel if you wake up on Wednesday and discover that the Commission candidate in your district, or Geno Jones, lost the election by just one vote?
We need a massive surge at the polls tomorrow to put all three of us over the top. We can win these races, and that’s the only way that we can start to move Torrance County into the 21st Century! If you’ve already done your part by voting early, GREAT! But some of those 1,846 Democrats who haven’t voted might be your family members, friends or neighbors. Please help us get them to get off their couches and VOTE!

TRUMP LIES ABOUT EVERYTHING!
Refute the Republican Rhetoric

On Sunday afternoon, Trump posted the following batch of lies:
The Fake Daniel J. Sullivan, Jr., has DISAPPEARED! Nobody can find him, including Law Enforcement. He knows that he committed a Criminal Act, but he also knows that there are those around him who, in a certain way, were far worse, like Lawyer Marc Elias, and Liberal Radical Left Activist “Lawyer” Norm Eisen. Others that are really bad, and corrupt, in so many ways, include Political Activists and Lowlives, Reid Hoffman, and Neville Roy Singham. These are CRIMINALS who totally abuse the Laws of our Land, and are destructive to our Country at levels never thought possible before. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP
To begin, Daniel J. Sullivan, Jr. is not “fake”. He’s a real live retired elementary school teacher from Petersburg, AK, a fishing village of about 3,000 people on Mitkof Island in southeastern Alaska. And he hasn’t really disappeared. Friends of Sullivan and his wife say that the couple has done a lot of traveling ever since he retired from teaching and that they boarded a flight for Anchorage last Monday. While nobody knows where they were headed, apparently this is something that they do fairly frequently. It’s not a magical disappearing act. And law enforcement could probably find him if they had a legitimate reason to look for him, but he’s committed no “criminal act”, so they have no reason to look for him.
If you’re not familiar with what Trump is ranting and raving about here, Alaska’s incumbent U.S. Senator is named Daniel S. Sullivan and is running for reelection in Alaska’s ranked-choice-voting tomorrow against Democrat Mary Peltola. Alaska’s primary is a nonpartisan primary, and there were 16 candidates on the ballot from five different political parties plus several of what we would call “DTS” here in New Mexico. Of those 16 candidates, four advance to the general election tomorrow. Those four include Democrat Mary Peltola and three Republicans, including Sen. Daniel S. Sullivan and retired teacher Daniel J. Sullivan, Jr. There is no federal or Alaska state law that says that someone with the same name as another candidate isn’t allowed to run for the same office.
Trump, his Department of Justice and the Republican Party of Alaska are crying because they think that the OTHER Republican Daniel Sullivan will take votes away from THEIR Daniel Sullivan. But this is ranked choice voting, so it only matters as long as long as Mary Peltola falls short of getting 50% of the vote and continues to fall short when the second preference votes for the #4 candidate get counted, and again when the last “also-ran” gets eliminated. It’s not like the race in Florida in 2020 when the GOP paid Jestine Iannotti $1200 to run a “ghost candidate” campaign to siphon votes away from the Democratic Candidate for a state senate seat.
