Democratic Party of Torrance County Newsletter

September 29, 2025

Hello Fellow Democrats,

How many of you know what Antifa is? I venture to say not many, and neither did I, until DJT declared it to be a terrorist organization at which point I started to educate myself. Here is what I learned – antifa stands for anti-fascism and is incorrectly viewed by some to be a far left-wing organization that is sometimes violent. Those people describe it as being anti-authoritarian, anti-capitalist and anti-state in its views. Individuals involved in communist and socialists groups, as many Democrats, may embrace Antifa ideology. But here's the thing. Antifa is not an organized group that elects officers, requests dues or is registered as a non-profit business or even as a for-profit business, let alone a PAC. It is simply an ideology that some people attune to.

Antifa has existed in different eras and was a part of a political movement in Germany and did have an association with the Stalinist Communist Party at that time. This is not a new thing and is something most Democrats do not have a clue about. But in DJT’s mind and let’s not forget Steven Miller’s mind, all Democrats are of Antifa ideology. There are some folks on Substack that are of the opinion that Antifa is the excuse DJT is looking for to declare martial law and cancel the 2026 election. He has declared the group protesting the immigration facility in Portland, Oregon an Antifa group and is sending troops to Portland even though the governor has told him not to come because there is no need.

This is scary folks and this is just the beginning of DJT sticking his nose into your business and shutting down your freedom of speech. I shared a Facebook post recently to the DPTC page as I so often do, and it was taken down by a Facebook Admin and labeled as a violation and as inappropriate. This item was no different from other items I have shared, or for that matter items other people have shared. This whole thing is an attempt to censor and control what is said about DJT; he is at war with anyone who disagrees with him or criticizes him. I am considering moving off of Facebook entirely, I just do not want to participate in Mark Zuckerberg's capitulation to DJT. Food for thought, friends.

Most of you know that Pinto Bean Fiesta was pretty much a bust this year because of rain; however, we did participate in the parade and had the booth setup for a few hours. We had some shows of approval from some in the parade audience, which is always good to hear and several newcomers stopped by the booth.

Our next meeting is October 11th at Nachos Restaurant in Moriarty at 2 pm. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Please bring a friend or two, everyone is welcome. Participation is now more important than ever!

Stand Up! Push Back! Continue the Fight!
