TRUMP LIES ABOUT EVERYTHING!
Refute the Republican Rhetoric

On Friday, Trump made a claim on his UntruthSocial platform regarding his 34-count felony convictions in New York. He posted:
I am pleased to report that Michael Cohen, the Prosecution’s Star Witness and, in actuality, only Witness in the New York State Attorney General and Manhattan DA Witch Hunt Cases brought against me, has just fully RECANTED his testimony. He was “pressured” and “coerced” to say things that were not true. I would like to thank Michael for having the Wisdom and Courage to step forward and do the right thing! His Act of Bravery is a Great Credit to the Justice System in New York City and State. I am sure it was not easy for him! Now we are asking that any remnant of those Politically Weaponized Cases against me be immediately terminated and dismissed. Their Star Witness said everything they did was WRONG and UNLAWFUL! Letitia James and Alvin Bragg broke the Law in order to do this in order to prevent me from becoming the President of the United States. Such a thing can never be allowed to happen again! Let’s be clear! Addressing the principle lie here, Michael Cohen has NOT formally or fully recanted his trial testimony. Cohen DID write in a published essay that he felt pressured and coerced by New York prosecutors to assist with their cases but stopped short of a formal legal retraction or admitting that his core factual testimony in court was false, and legal experts note that Cohen has not filed official court documents to change or withdraw his sworn trial testimony. Now, that’s just the first lie.
Trump also claimed that Cohen was the ONLY witness against him. Cohen was the only witness against him ONLY if you don’t count porn star Stormy Daniels, who received the $130,000 hush payment at the center of the case, David Pecker, the former publisher of the National Enquirer, who testified about the "catch and kill" strategy Trump and Cohen routinely used to suppress negative stories, Trump’s former campaign and White House communications director Hope Hicks, Keith Davidson, the attorney who represented Karen McDougal and Daniels, who both received “hush money” from Trump via Cohen, Trump Organization bookkeeper Deb Tarasoff, who helped process the allegedly falsified records, and fourteen other witnesses from both inside the Trump Organization and the Trump White House during his first term.
Trump’s cult members will undoubtably use Friday’s claims about the case as “evidence” that the trial was a witch hunt. It was no witch hunt. It was a matter of someone who used wealth and power to hide his criminal activity by buying people’s silence getting caught. No amount of lying by Trump will ever make him “not guilty” of his crimes.
