Democratic Party of Torrance County Newsletter

September 8, 2025

Hello Fellow Democrats,

Donald J Trump is NOT a popular man! He is being booed everywhere he has a presence. Facebook is on fire about his Truth Social post about "smelling deportations in the morning" with an AI-generated image of him as a strong healthy cavalry officer. It is more than disgusting, Melanie Stansberry called it deplorable. Veterans have jumped on it as "stolen valor" since he hasn't earned the right to wear anything military related, much less the hat of a cavalry officer.

When he showed up Sunday at the Men’s US Open Tennis Match, he walked into earth shaking boos that went on for a long period of time. Then there is the Hyundai debacle that is currently unfolding with ICE detaining hundreds of innocent people, presuming guilt where people can't immediately prove their innocence. JB Pritzker and Gavin Newson are both giving him the facts about all of his stupid policies and neither of those men are backing down. The Trump administration is the definition of insanity – and that is just for this week!

Sadly, there is still an unwanted military presence in LA, things are not going well in DC and apparently Donnie is sending troops to both Chicago and Boston soon. There is something here I just do not understand – there are laws against the government turning the military on its own people. How is this even happening? Why is the military allowing this to occur? Are they are all MAGAts too? The military commanders have no more respect for the Constitution than Donnie and all the Project 2025 idiots. Those people are crazy, I swear they are seriously crazy. I do not have anything against Christianity, but these people want control of everything, I mean everything. The far-right Christian Nationals are definitely trying to turn this country into the Handmaid’s Tale. I have watched three or four episodes of that series, and it is more than disturbing, to the point that I could not watch any more of it. Steven Miller, in my opinion, is the one actually running this country. He, along with Donnie, makes me cringe every time I hear their names or hear them speak.

I get up every morning, get myself dressed to go to work, go do a day’s job of being nice, caring and helpful to my clientele and then at the end of the day there is all of this garbage to learn about and hear about. The uncertainty of our future is what has us all wringing our hands. At least we have made some headway in the court systems lately, until the Supreme Court gets involved, then it all goes to hell again and again. There is nothing we or our congressmen and women can do but protest, show up where it counts, standup and hold our ground.

We are standing up every Saturday at the corner of Route 66 and Hwy 41. The protest starts at noon and lasts for an hour. Bring your own sign, just show up when you can, we need all the help we can get.

We will have a presence at the Pinto Bean Fiesta again this year, please put September 27th on your calendar! As in the past, we will walk in the parade. Please come and walk with us, the more people we have walking the bigger our impression is. It might just encourage some of those watching the parade to come join us, everyone is welcome. We will also have a booth at the park, and you can sign up to help work at the booth.

You can also put October 11th on your calendar. That is when we start to have regular monthly meetings again. It is at noon and you will be fed. We do not have the location confirmed yet, but please keep an eye out for that in the next issue of the Blue Beacon.

I wish everyone a good week, and I look forward to seeing you at Pinto Bean Fiesta.

Stand Up! Push Back! Continue the Fight!
