A Few of the "Violent Domestic Terrorists" that tRump says have turned Portland Oregon into a "War Zone."

Democratic Party of Torrance County Newsletter

October 20, 2025

Hello Fellow Democrats,

By all accounts, nationwide, the No Kings Day rallies on Saturday were a huge success. Coincidentally, the rallies were one day prior to the 244th anniversary of Lord Cornwallis’ surrender to General Washington at Yorktown, effectively bringing a successful end to our Revolutionary war and ridding our country of rule by a king. Demonstrators at over 2,700 rallies across the country turned out for these events to protest Trump and his autocratic policies, and while estimates vary, it would appear that around 7 million Americans came out to stand up for democracy, some even in tiny Moriarty, far surpassing the record-setting crowds at the protests on June 14th. Predictably, the official response from the Trump White House was “Who cares?” with Republicans calling these protests “Hate America” rallies.

Meanwhile, in other news . . .

It's no secret that Trump doesn’t want to leave the White House. He initially refused after losing the 2020 election, and he’s hinted . . . not very subtly . . . that he wants to stay there after this term is over. Most importantly, he doesn’t want to face the prospect of being impeached and removed, which could well happen if Democrats gain control of both houses of Congress with the 2026 elections. Trump knows that his best chance of avoiding ever having to give up his gold-plated decorations in the Oval Office is to keep the 2026 elections from ever happening in the first place. Theoretically he could cancel the elections by either declaring an armed insurrection at home or by having us involved in a true war with another country at the time.

Despite ICE’s best efforts to incite protesters, and in a few cases attacking them, the anti-Trump protests nationwide have been peaceful. As long as the protests remain peaceful, Trump will have a very difficult time declaring that there’s an armed insurrection. So, he’s likely desperate for a “Plan B” since his “Plan A” is proving to be unsuccessful.

With some protesters wearing silly costumes and dancing in the streets to mock ICE and let the world know that they are demonstrating peaceably, on September 1st, Trump directed our military to destroy a small boat in international waters off the coast of Venezuela. Since then, five additional small boats have been similarly destroyed. Trump has claimed, without providing a shred of evidence, that these boats were operated by “dangerous narco-terrorists” to justify their destruction.

Maritime experts have stated that boats of that size have a range of 300-600 miles. That’s 300 miles if they’re loaded with any sort of cargo, including drugs, and 600 miles if they have no cargo at all. Since it’s roughly 2,000 miles across the Caribbean from Venezuela, it would be physically impossible for those boats to successfully transport drugs to our country as Trump has claimed they have been doing for years. Now Trump has compounded his murderous attacks on boats in international waters . . . a clear violation of international law, by the way . . . by authorizing covert operations by our CIA in Venezuela and having Air Force bombers flying in circles near their air space while threatening “ground actions”. Is he deliberately trying to start a real shooting war with that relatively small country? Is war with Venezuela Trump’s “Plan B”? Don’t be too shocked.

Stand Up! Push Back! Continue the Fight!
