Hello Fellow Democrats,
How long do you think it will take DJT to realize that he is never, ever, ever going to get a Nobel Peace Prize? He wants that Nobel prize so bad he can taste it, and he is willing to do anything to get it. He has sucked up to Putin big time, embarrassed himself and this country with his summit meeting in Alaska, and is now putting pressure on Zelensky to agree to Putin’s demands. I do not think Zelensky or the big guns in Europe that are now supporting Ukraine will even consider any of Putin’s demands. DJT claims that he just wants the killing to stop. Oh please, when did DJT ever care about another person’s life, the only life he cares about is his own. If he had any empathy whatsoever, he would not be locking up immigrants and treating them in despicable ways. He wants that prize because Obama got one, and DJT is not going to be one upped by a black man especially not by a successful popular black man like Obama.
It really irks me that DJT and the Christian Nationalist are trying to rewrite history. Demanding changes at the Smithsonian and taking down exhibits to remake the world in their eyes is nothing short of disgusting, insane, disrespectful and any other adjectives I can come up with. I have read that he is going after other museums as well and forcing the same kind of changes. I am also irked about the Kennedy Center name change and him going to be the emcee of this year’s awards. Isn’t that going to be just a tiny bit weird? I think so and, honestly, I hope he falls flat on his face! Another of my irks is what he and congress have done to PBS and NPR. His attack on journalists and the First Amendment shows us just how close we have come to dictatorship. Rachel Maddow has said that dictatorship is no longer coming, it is here, it is alive, and it is well.
All our lives are about to change, but maybe not until after November 4th, 2026, which is when the majority of the big beautiful bill goes into effect. Isn’t it interesting that congress waited to enact the changes until after election day? They are hoping you will vote Republican and hoping you will not notice the changes until well after election day. I suppose some people in red states may be that stupid. Some people will not know what has happened to their lives until they are slapped in the face with a lack of medical care, a lack of income, a lack of food and more. Who will they turn to then? I don’t know, I wish I had a crystal ball and could see how all of this is going to turn out, I know you do too.
I want you to know that Ann Ruhnka has been working hard on getting permits from the City of Moriarty for weekly demonstrations. This has required more than either of us had guessed it would take, but she is almost there. Be looking for more information about where and when you can join us to demonstrate. We are calling it “Save Our Democracy.”
