Democratic Party of Torrance County Newsletter

October 13, 2025

Hello Fellow Democrats and Antifa Thinkers,

It was good to see many of you this past Saturday at our October meeting. We had a good turnout with lots of good conversations. Our next meeting will be in Estancia at the Soil & Water Conservation Building. Unfortunately, Sam Bergman will not be joining us as he had a scheduling conflict and has cancelled with the DPTC. We have been told that his campaign will schedule something on their own for a later date.

For those of you who could not attend the meeting, I would like to catch you up on the latest news. A new committee has been formed from the four areas that make up the East Mountains and the Estancia Valley. That is the DPTC, Edgewood Dems, East Mountain Dems located in the Cedar Crest area and the southern Sandoval County Dems. We all call this area home, and we are very different from the rest of Bernalillo County and the City of Albuquerque, particularly different from northern Santa Fe County, and western Sandoval County. We have different issues and different concerns and are primarily rural in nature. We have come together with the purpose of forming a bigger, louder voice to represent our entire area. We are calling ourselves the Quad-County Democrats, and our first task at hand is to find out what all of you are thinking, and how you are feeling in the current political climate. An email survey was sent to all of you this past week. From the number of surveys that have been returned, I am assuming that most of you have not seen it or did not know what it was and possibly trashed it. This data is important to us and will be the guiding light to determine where we go from here. I am begging you to search your email for the Quad-County Democrats survey. Please fill it out, complete it and return it as soon as possible, it will take less than 10 minutes to answer the 10 questions.

Most of you know that I have a pet project to get some billboards up on I40 for east bound and west bound traffic. This is just another reason that the Quad-County Democrats are important. DPTC cannot do these billboards alone, we need help. Just imagine the impact we could have, if we tapped all the commuters on their trip into ABQ and then again on their way home. It could be enough messaging for 3 months or so that they might vote Democratic and might start to become active in our organizations. We are looking for donations to fund this project, if you are able, we are happy to get any amount you can comfortably afford.

Next Saturday, October 18th is No Kings Day. There are a few places you can go to protest, please choose a location that works for you. Specific places and times are included in this newsletter. You can also go to Indivisable.com to see all the protests going on in New Mexico and the rest of the nation. It is important that these protests are peaceful. Any kind of confrontation is a reason for DJT to declare martial law and shut down elections. If there are hecklers, ignore them, do not exchange conversation with them or become physically engaged.

Lastly, if you have a friend who would enjoy receiving the Blue Beacon, please forward your copy to them, they can sign up for their own copy at the bottom of the page. If you have an announcement you would like to see put in the Beacon, please email it to Millie.
