Good morning, fellow Antifa members!
Most of you are now aware that we are honored to have an anonymous doner donating $400/month earmarked to go to Bethel Storehouse. These funds are to help ease the pain of discontinued SNAP benefits. A couple of others have added to that donation, and it now totals $625/month. The first payment along with the food donations collected at our Saturday meeting will be delivered sometime this week. The Democrats will get recognition for these donations with a message that Democrats Care. Bethel is more than grateful for the work that Democrats are doing to help them, and we are very proud to be able to facilitate it, especially with the holidays coming on when the need for food and money is even greater.
We are also very proud that the State of New Mexico has stepped up and is fully funding SNAP benefits. Our amazing governor has found money in the budget to make this funding happen. Oh, but wait, DJT pulled a fast one on Sunday! He and the Dept of Agriculture demanded that states not fund the SNAP benefits, and if any state has already done so, they must “undo” that payment. AND if states do such a horrifying thing as fund their SNAP program, Donnie will personally see to it that that state suffers severe consequences. Like refusing to reimburse those expenses after the federal government opens back up. Well gee whiz, Donnie, congrats, you have succeeded at screwing things up yet again. This directive is more than shocking and disgusting. Is there anyone who walks this earth that is any more heartless than DJT? He has a total and complete lack of empathy! Yes, it is shocking and disgusting at best.
Now let me connect the dots for you! Because of all this insanity, because of all this craziness and uncertainty, it is even more important than ever that the Dems keep up the donations of food and money to Bethel Storehouse. The Democrats Care, we have a heart and we have empathy!
It is going to be great fun when this shit show is over, and the Dems have the pleasure of marching these lunatics off to jail. Now that is a show we all have to stick around for!
STAND UP, PUSH BACK AND HELP YOUR NEIGHBORS!

TRUMP LIES ABOUT EVERYTHING!
Refute the Republican Rhetoric
In a social media post on Sunday, Trump said that “People that are against Tariffs are FOOLS! We are now the Richest, Most Respected Country in the World, With Almost No Inflation, and A Record Stock Market Price. 401k’s are Highest EVER. We are taking in Trillions of Dollars and will soon begin paying down our ENORMOUS DEBT, $37 Trillion. Record Investment in the USA, plants and factories going up all over the place. A dividend of at least $2000 a person (not including high income people!) will be paid to everyone”
As is frequently the case with Trump’s posts, this one is filled with lies, which makes it hard to pick out one lie to focus on, so let’s hit a couple of them, but since it’s predictable that Trump’s fact-blind supporters will be touting the claim that Trump is (once again) promising to send them a big fat check to help cover the high cost of groceries that his tariffs are causing, we’ll start with that one. So, here’s some facts for your MAGA friends, family, and neighbors.
Of course, his definition of “high income people” is pretty vague, but let’s say, for argument’s sake, that the top 25% of the country’s wage earners are the “high income people” he’s talking about. That means that 255,075,000 people will each be getting a $2,000 check. That’s over $510 trillion in checks going out with all of that funding coming from the “Trillions of Dollars” that Trump says that we’ve taken in from his tariffs. So, just how many “Trillions of Dollars” would that actually be? Anywhere close to $510 trillion?
Actually, according to the Department of the Treasury’s data, from April through September tariffs generated a whopping $151 billion. That’s “billion” with a “B”, not “trillion” with a “T”. That’s a little over $25 billion per month. At that rate of income from tariffs it would take approximately 1,700 years to pay for all those checks that Trump is promising, so don’t hold your breath waiting for yours.
Trump also noted in his social media post the size of our National Debt. He was, at least, accurate in saying that it’s now $37 trillion but failed to point out that his non-consecutive five years in office are responsible for the largest percentage of that debt of any president and includes an increase of $1 trillion just this past nine months under his watch. Then he has the gall to call us “the Richest, Most Respected Country in the World”. Only Donald Trump can look at staggering debt and call it being rich and look at laughter and call it respect.

Looking for Democrats to run in 2026
With the 2025 non-partisan elections behind us, the DPTC is now looking at the 2026 Torrance County elections. These elections are partisan, but in the recent past there have only been Republicans on the ballot for the General Election since it’s been difficult to persuade Democrats to run in a county where it’s perceived that only Republicans can win. Because of this perception, there have been times when Democrats want to run, but feel that they have to change their party affiliation to “Republican” to get elected. In 2026 we’d like to change this perception, but we need brave Democrats to step up and “put their hats in the ring”. Here are the positions that will be up for election in 2026 along with the estimated annual salary:
County Commissioner District 1 – Pays $27,570.
County Commissioner District 2 – Pays $27,570.
Sheriff – Pays $72,164.
Assessor – Pays $70,031.
Probate Judge – Pays $24,180.
Magistrate Judge – Pays $79,537
All of the salaries shown are the current salaries which will likely go up slightly with a “cost of living” increase at the first of the year. The DPTC stands ready to assist you as much as possible, should you choose to step up and run for one of these positions! Contact Bill Peifer if you have any interest in running.
