“For all its imperfections, America is still the beacon to the world,
an ideal to be realized, a promise to be kept.” President Joseph Biden
| Democratic Party of Torrance County Newsletter November 20, 2023 | |
Good Morning Fellow Democrats:
Marcie and I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy your holiday weekend and we hope that you can spend quality time with family and friends. For myself, I am thankful for my family, for the friends I have made over the years, and for the opportunities I have been given. I am particularly thankful for our DPTC team. We are small, but we are mighty!
We have so much to be thankful for living in this country. I haven’t traveled the world as much as many of you, but I have done enough to know that many of us in America don’t realize how great we have it. We can see it everyday on the news as people fight for life in the Middle East, in Ukraine, in Venezuela, - in every corner of the world. I have had family members in Afghanistan, Iraq, much of South America – they can tell you how appreciative it made them of our country and its system of government.
It is disheartening to see our citizenry disrespect what our country has accomplished in less than 250 years. I see folks who fly our flag upside down, folks who disrespect our legal system, folks who disrespect our public leaders – and I just shake my head. America isn’t perfect but open your eyes and take a look around. Be thankful that you have the good fortune to be here. Strive to make it better, not tear it down. Remember in America, your vote is your power.
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Stand Up! Push Back! Vote!
