Good Morning Fellow Torrance County Blue Team:
I hope everyone had a great weekend and we are all ready to spring into Spring. The Democratic Party of New Mexico got the season started on Saturday with the spring Central Committee meeting. There were nearly 300 attendees at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
The DPTC was well represented. Not only did Vice-Chair Ann Schropp and I attend, but we had our secretary Millie Peifer, treasurer Bill Peifer, County Commissioner Sam Schropp, as well as Augie Montoya and Scott Corwin present. I imagine it’s been a long time, if ever, that Torrance County had as much representation at an SCC meeting.
Jessica Velasquez was reelected as party Chair and Manny Crespin as vice Chair. They have both done a super job running the party and raising funds on a state-wide basis.
Ann and I this week will be voting on
· Two (2) CD Vice Chairs from your Congressional District (CD)
· Two (2) members of the Affirmative Action Committee from your CD
· Two (2) members of the Budget & Finance Committee from your CD
· Two (2) members of the State Platform & Resolutions Committee from your CD
The state of the DPNM is strong. As you all know, we swept all the state-wide offices in 2022 and have rolled up our sleeves for municipal elections this year and tough battles nationally, state-wide and locally in 2024.
