Good morning, Fellow Democrats!

Yes, it’s that time of year again. You can’t walk into a department store, a “dollar” store or even a supermarket without realizing that kids will be headed back to school in a few weeks! Back-to-School supplies are everywhere, and yes . . . with this worldwide inflation problem, they’re expensive, especially for those families with more than one or two children in school. The Democratic Party of Torrance County is doing its part to help. We obviously can’t help every family in the county, but we can at least help one. So, we’re going to be giving away a backpack full of essential Back-to-School items.

This isn’t a fundraising raffle or anything like that. It won’t cost parents a dime to enter into the drawing for the backpack. They just need to stop by our booth at Old Timers’ Day in Estancia on Saturday and fill out a little ticket with their name and phone number. And don’t worry about us spamming people. The contact information will only be used to let the winner of the backpack know that they’ve won and to find out when and where we can deliver it. The drawing will be held at the end of Saturday’s festivities and will be announced further in next week’s Blue Beacon.

Please, spread the word! Tell your family, friends and neighbors about this giveaway! And please stay safe and drink plenty of water during this hot spell!
