Hello Fellow Democrats and ANTIFA followers,
I don’t know about you, but I am not feeling warm and fuzzy about DJT’s proposed billion-dollar ballroom. His ballroom proposal started at a cost of $300 million and now he is talking a billion dollars. Comments have been made about excessive gold plating. Martin Heinrich and fellow Democrats had this to say about that, “Throwing a billion taxpayer dollars at Trump’s gold-plated ballroom is the last thing Congress should be doing while hardworking Americans are getting crushed at the gas pump, at the grocery store, and by higher housing, health care and home energy cost.” Wow, they hit the nail squarely on the head with that comment. We are all struggling with every single one of those items called out. And to make matters worse for DJT he was recorded while discussing Iran and their possible nuclear weapons as saying, “I don’t think about Americans financial situation, I don’t think about anybody.” Aww thanks so much for that, Donnie, so good to know. We kind of already knew that, but thanks for the clarification. We are all aware that the only goal DJT has is to keep enriching himself and his family at taxpayer expense – corruption at its finest!
And how about John Fetterman, Democrat from Pennsylvania who has apparently turned his back on the party and is now defending DJT’s comments about not thinking of Americans financial situation. Sadly, Fetterman has recently voted with Republicans and is now a frequent face on FOX News. He was quoted telling Democrats to “get over their Trump derangement syndrome.” This guy needs to go, and I hope Pennsylvania will take care of that situation.
Early primary voting is currently underway. Don’t forget, if you vote by absentee mail-in ballot, now is the time to request your ballot. Or vote in person on election day June 2nd, the polls open at 7 am and will stay open until 7 pm. You can now vote at any location in Torrance County and Independents can for the first time vote in the primary election. Make it a point to cast your vote, it’s important now more than ever!
Have a great week everyone,
Myra Oden

TRUMP LIES ABOUT EVERYTHING!
Refute the Republican Rhetoric
By Bill Peifer
During Trump’s visit to China, Chinese President Xi posed the question to Trump: “Can China and the United States overcome the ‘Thucydides Trap’ and establish a new paradigm for relations between great powers?” We can we infer from the fact that Trump had no answer to Xi’s question at the time that Trump had no clue just what the “Thucydides Trap” that Xi referred to really was. Most Americans wouldn’t.
The Thucydides Trap is a political science term coined by Harvard Political Science Professor Graham Allison. Starting with the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta in the 5th Century BC, chronicled by Greek general and historian, Thucydides, and examining 15 other major conflicts up to modern times, Allison observed that a competition between a declining nation, desperate to cling to its power, and a rising and ambitious nation, resulted in armed conflict 12 out of the 16 times.
Xi’s question to Trump referencing the Thucydides Trap was obviously in the context that China is on rise, America is declining, and Xi was expressing a hope that the two nations could avoid the sort of conflict that the “Trap” often brings about. Later that day, after somebody explained the Thucydides Trap to him, Trump released the following statement:
"When President Xi very elegantly referred to the United States as perhaps being a declining nation, he was referring to the tremendous damage we suffered during the four years of Sleepy Joe Biden and the Biden Administration, and on that score, he was 100% correct."
The question by Xi was phrased quite clearly to be about the future . . . going forward from that date. Nobody asks “can” something happen when referring to the situation that existed well over a year ago. They’re talking about the “here and now”. And so, our Trump Lie of the week is claiming that Xi was talking about the U.S. being in the decline when our GDP was increasing, millions of new jobs were being created and our recovery from the pandemic was the envy of the world under Biden. It’s obvious that Xi was referring to the current America with flat GDP, minimal new job creation and its President being the laughingstock of the rest of the world, but Trump can’t admit to his cult members that he isn’t making America great again.
