Hello Fellow Democrats and Antifa Thinkers,
On Wednesday, one day before many of us got together with family and friends for food and football, 20-year-old Amy Specialist Sarah Beckstrom and 24-year-old Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe were shot in Washington D.C. by Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an Afghan national. Thursday night it was announced by Trump that Specialist Beckstrom had passed away. Sgt. Wolfe is in critical condition, but at the time of this writing he was still alive. When Trump announced the passing of Specialist Beckstrom, he did so in his typical melodramatic style, feigning sorrow while commenting that “She’s no longer with us. She’s looking down at us right now.”
Then, as can be expected any time anything bad happens, Trump immediately started blaming “Crooked Joe Biden” for this tragedy, saying that the man who did the shooting had not been properly vetted before being allowed into the U.S. So, is there any other place that we can cast blame?
Let’s first consider the fact that the National Guard didn’t need to be deployed to D.C. in the first place. In a rational world, Specialist Beckstrom would have been at home in West Virginia, perhaps helping her mom prepare for the family’s Thanksgiving meal the following day. But Trump decided that it was necessary to deploy thousands of Guardsmen into the nation’s capital where their primary function would be to pick up litter.
Trump claimed that “There was no vetting or anything”, but when a reporter pointed out that Lakanwal had been vetted by both the CIA and FBI, and asked Trump why he was blaming Biden, instead of answering, Trump lashed out at the reporter asking her “Are you stupid? Are you a stupid person?” Trump then, of course, started referring to the terrible withdrawal of our troops, CIA operatives and their Afghan interpreters in August of 2021, laying all the blame for that fiasco on Biden’s doorstep. But let’s take a look at the timeline of events leading up to that rushed withdrawal.
In February 2020, the Trump administration (yes, during his first term) and the Taliban signed the United States–Taliban deal in Doha, Qatar, which stipulated fighting restrictions for both the US and the Taliban, and which provided for the withdrawal of all NATO forces from Afghanistan by 1 May 2021. The Trump administration agreed to an initial reduction of US forces from 13,000 to 8,600 troops by July 2020, followed by a complete withdrawal by 1 May 2021. Trump exceeded those goals, cutting our troop strength to a mere 2,500 before leaving office. Biden inherited a flawed withdrawal plan . . . a flawed TRUMP plan . . . with no time to negotiate a new deal with the Taliban. He managed to postpone the withdrawal to August, but everything, including the vetting of the Afghan nationals that were to be withdrawn along with our military, was rushed.
Yes, Lakanwal did arrive in this country during the Biden administration. But the initial vetting of him was done in the waning days of the first Trump administration. He applied for asylum in the U.S. during the Biden administration, but that asylum was granted, after additional vetting by Trump’s FBI, just this year. So much of this is Trump’s fault, but of course, in Trump’s mind, even a storm ripping through the south is the fault of “Crooked Joe Biden”.
Stand Up! Push Back! Continue the Fight!

TRUMP LIES ABOUT EVERYTHING!
Refute the Republican Rhetoric
The latest Trump lie . . . actually, a couple of them at one shot . . . are toward the end of Trump’s traditional Thanksgiving post on his ridiculously named “Truth Social” platform. It’s a long post of almost 350 words, so I won’t copy its entirety here, but he starts with “A very Happy Thanksgiving salutation to all of our Great American Citizens and Patriots who have been so nice in allowing our Country to be divided, disrupted, carved up, murdered, beaten, mugged, and laughed at, along with certain other foolish countries throughout the World, for being “Politically Correct,” and just plain STUPID, when it comes to Immigration.”
Here’s the link to the entire post, if anyone has the stomach to read it all:
https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115625429081411360
Of course, we could probably find a lie or two in that first run-on sentence, but I want to focus on the stuff at the end. This is where he starts talking about Minnesota, first claiming that people in that state are afraid to leave their homes because there are hundreds of thousands of Somalian street gang members “roving the streets”. Yes, there are a few small Somali street gangs, but they are few and small. There are also street gangs of just about any ethnic group present in Minnesota, as well as a few White Supremacist gangs (but they call themselves “militias”) like the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys. It’s the racist in Trump that singles out the Somalis.
Trump then calls Governor Tim Walz the “seriously retarded Governor of Minnesota”. Pot-Kettle-Black? That gets followed by repeating the completely discredited claim that Congresswoman Ilhan Omar married her brother to get into the U.S. illegally. She’s been married twice, neither time to a relative. It’s really a sad state of affairs that if you take away the slurs, both racial and non-racial, and the lies, all that’s left of the President of the United is an empty XXXXXL suit.

Looking for Democrats to run in 2026
With the 2025 non-partisan elections behind us, the DPTC is now looking at the 2026 Torrance County elections. These elections are partisan, but in the recent past there have only been Republicans on the ballot for the General Election since it’s been difficult to persuade Democrats to run in a county where it’s perceived that only Republicans can win. Because of this perception, there have been times when Democrats want to run, but feel that they have to change their party affiliation to “Republican” to get elected. In 2026 we’d like to change this perception, but we need brave Democrats to step up and “put their hats in the ring”. Here are the positions that will be up for election in 2026 along with the estimated annual salary:
County Commissioner District 1 – Pays $27,570.
County Commissioner District 2 – Pays $27,570.
Sheriff – Pays $72,164.
Assessor – Pays $70,031.
Probate Judge – Pays $24,180.
Magistrate Judge – Pays $79,537
All of the salaries shown are the current salaries which will likely go up slightly with a “cost of living” increase at the first of the year. The DPTC stands ready to assist you as much as possible, should you choose to step up and run for one of these positions! Contact Bill Peifer if you have any interest in running.
