Successful S.M.A.R.T. Goals Workshop

On July 30th, MAS-SSF hosted a productive S.M.A.R.T. Goals Workshop as part of our Shifa for Youth Program. Attendees explored MAS-SSF’s wide range of services, with a deep dive into how our youth programming supports personal growth.

The interactive sessions guided participants through:

  • What S.M.A.R.T. goals are: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound
  • Why setting clear and realistic goals matters
  • How to create achievable action plans

For some youth, it was their first time seriously considering their future and goals.

The workshop drew 36 participants — parents, middle and high school youth, and younger siblings. After the session, families enjoyed pizza, and each received a $25 gift card as a thank-you for attending.

We look forward to continuing to provide this workshop throughout the year. Please reach out if you'd like us to present this workshop at your community event: info@mas-ssf.org.

Breaking the Stigma:

Community Mental Health Workshop at Tarbiya House Roseville

Join Us Friday, August 15

We encourage you to attend our upcoming workshop focused on reducing the stigma around mental health and seeking support. This will be the third time we are presenting this in our communities. In May, this same workshop reached 50–60 attendees at other Tarbiya locations—and we are pleased to bring the conversation to even more community members.

Keep an eye on our newsletter for an update on the time of the event.

Led by Sister Nazia Khan, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, this interactive panel will provide practical insights and foster open discussion on how our community can better understand and support mental health needs. Sister Nazia also serves on the MAS-SSF Executive Committee and has been a driving force advocating for our community.
