Have you read the Annual Fund letter Mr. Bass sent by email? Please take a moment to do so. This is one of the most important ways you can help our school offer the programs that makes it so great - the money goes directly to the school, is 100% tax deductible, and requires minimal volunteer hours. SEPT 19: Vote for SSC Members - Ballots Due Friday

VOTE TODAY! The School Site Council (SSC) is conducting elections for new parent members. Elected members serve a two-year term. To vote, please:
- Print out the ballot
- Select the three (3) candidates you vote for
- Sign the ballot
- Return it to the SSC ballot box in the office
by Friday September 19, 2014
The three candidates who receive the most votes will become voting members of the board; the other one will become an alternate.

Come add to the conversation about our school priorities! The next School Site Council (SSC) meeting will take place on Monday 9/22, at 6:00-7:30pm (in library). We will vote re: approval of the school budget, review the Balanced Score Card, announce SSC election results and introduce all SSC members new and old. You do not need to be an SSC member to attend. WHAT: A healthy "FUN-Raiser" and one WHEN: Sun, Oct 19th, 11am-2pm
WHERE: Balboa High School Track
THEME: This year's theme is "Kickin' it Old School". As we live through this amazing year of renovations and upgrades, this is our nod to the past for all of the years spent building the Miraloma community into the best elementary school in the Bay Area.

Have You Received a Notification of School Meal Eligibility?

MISSING MONEY! Miraloma is missing out on free $$funding$$ for each student who did not turn in a completed school lunch form! Many families have turned in incomplete forms. It's not too late, you can still help us find this money!
If your family did not receive a "Notification of School Meal Eligibility" in the mail, please submit a free/reduced lunch application online as soon as possible!
Our target completion rate is 100%, as we receive funding for each completed application, regardless if you applied for free/reduced lunch or not.

You can pay for school lunches online via Mealpay Plus. To create a free account, you must have your child's student ID number, which can be found on the SFUSD acceptance letter and report cards. Register at www.mypaymentsplus.com.

REMINDER: New Birthday Policy at Miraloma
|
We believe that birthdays are a great time to celebrate the life of our students and their special day. It's a perfect opportunity to celebrate with friends and teachers while at school. Through our effort to create a space of equity, all birthdays will be celebrated during Morning Circle once a week in a large group format.
Families can support this by:
- Ensuring that your child attends Morning Circle on the Monday of their birthday week.
- Celebrating along with us at Morning Circle!
- Refraining from bringing treats during the school day and after school program.
- Being as inclusive as possible when planning off campus parties. (We know it is challenging to include everyone so we encourage you to speak with your student about using discretion and consideration for those that might not be participating.)
