We currently have only 4 volunteers signed up to help with tours this Saturday at school, and 80 parents touring. We need at least 4 more volunteers to be at school from 8:15-9:15 am, simply standing in the halls and answering questions. You don't need to know everything about the school -- most things are covered in the self-guided tour packet, and anything else Mr. Bass can answer in the Q&A at 9:15am. | SIGN UP TODAY

 The next 10-week session of Blue Bear classes will start the week of January 12. Registrations details are below:

DEC 12: Principal at Willie Brown Academic STEM M.S. Visits Miraloma - 8am in the Cafeteria

Please join me this Friday, Dec 12th morning (8am) in the cafeteria, to meet and greet the new Principal of SFUSD's new Willie Brown Academic STEM Middle School. Principal Demetrius Brown will be joining us to share info on the new school. You will be able to ask questions and learn more about the STEM and other programs being offered starting in the 2015-16 school year.

DEC 12: Staff Holiday Gift Collection - contribute today to say thanks

 It's that holiday time of year and we want to
give a gift of thanks to the more than 30
hard working staff members whom we
don't normally thank throughout the year. These are the folks who support our teachers
and our school and interact with our kids every day. They are our custodial & lunchroom staff, the counselors, librarian, adviser, secretary, coach and many others.

DEC 12: Participate in the Upcoming Chinese New Year's Parade

SIGN UP by Friday! For the seventh year, Miraloma students (and alums) are invited to join the Chung Ngai Dance Troupe in the 2015 Chinese New Year Parade. The parade for the Year of the Horse will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015* in Downtown/Chinatown San Francisco. (*Please note this is the same evening as the Miraloma Auction.) This is the perfect opportunity to take part in the largest Chinese New Year celebration outside of Asia. More info here.
If your child would like to participate, return an application form to Susie Quan by Tuesday, Dec 12. We have a limit to the number of children that can participate.

JAN 13: Parent's Education Session on 5th Grade Puberty Training
|
|
Every year the fifth graders receive puberty training from an outside educator that is approved by the district. There is also a parent information session a few weeks before the kids have their class so parents can be informed.
The parent puberty info session will be Tuesday January 13th at 8:00 am - immediately after drop off in the cafeteria. Everyone is welcome. The kids will have their class later in the month.

JAN 14: SFUSD Enrollment Forms Due to Ms. Mallen for 2015-16

 Don't forget to complete your SFUSD Enrollment forms for incoming younger siblings going to Kindergarten and/or outgoing 5th graders going to Middle School!
Ms. Mallen has printed forms in the office or you can download them here. She will take your completed forms for the 2015-2016 school year and deliver them to the District office by their deadline of January 16, 2015.

HELP NEEDED!
We need volunteers for the Saturday school tour, on December 13, from 8:15 - 9:30 am. We have 80 interested parents signed up to tour that day, and not enough volunteers to be stationed around the school to answer questions. You do not need to know everything about Miraloma, all is in the self-guided tour packets they have. Just be a friendly face and school parent as guests walk the tour.
