There are new  students  joining us in every grade next year!  Join us at
First Friday Coffee at 8am outside the cafeteria this Friday, April 10th to welcome our new Miraloma families! After coffee, the new families will be able to tour the school.

PTAAPR 10: PTA Meeting - 8:15am in Cafeteria w/ Two Special Guests!

Join us for the April PTA Meeting at 8:15am this Friday, April 10th in the cafeteria after Coffee. In addition to updates from the PTA Board and Mr. Bass, we have arranged two short presentations to share helpful information on the following subjects:

  • Courtney McDonald from Evolve.org to discuss Prop 13
  • Carol Lei from K2C.org explaining the citywide Kinder to College Savings program (Carol is a former Miraloma parent!)

talentAPR 15: Talent Show Auditions

Attention 2nd- 5th graders: Talent Show Auditions will be held on Wed Apr 15 @ 2:00-4:30pm in the Auditorium. 

 

Permission slips are due back April 10th. No permission slip, no audition!

  • Auditions are open to 2nd- 5th graders only
  • Possible acts: magic tricks, skits, dance numbers, singing songs (music must be karaoke version), playing a musical instrument , comedy routines, gymnastics, martial arts.
  • All acts must be approx. 2 minutes.
  • Group acts are STRONGLY encouraged!!
  • Rehearsal schedule to be announced soon.

The Talent Show is Fri May 8, at Denman Middle School from 6-8:30pm.

MEEP and the Miraloma STEAM Committee are pleased to bring another 'Hour of Code' to Miraloma on Thursday April 16, 2015. Visit www.code.org for more information!

ArtshowAPR 16: Miraloma Art Show - Volunteer to Help & Come See the Art!

The Miraloma Art Show will be held on Thursday, April 16, 5-7pm.


Come see a variety of ART done by the amazing artists of Miraloma!

5:30 to 6:15: A special treat! Check out what we do at OPERA time. This is a special presentation by the San Francisco Opera.

We need YOUR help to make the Art Show happen - please sign up to volunteer!

  • Wed, Apr 15, 6-8pm: 8-10 volunteers to help with set-up in the gym
  • Thu, Apr 16, 8am-3pm: 8-10 volunteers needed throughout the day to hang and display student art - need as many people as possible!
  • Fri, Apr 17, Noon to 2: 5-8 volunteers needed to take down art work

Students can submit Artwork of any medium: Watercolors, oil pastel, collage, mixed media, colored pencil, charcoal, photography, fiber arts, crayon, mobiles, tempera, ceramic, sculpture, "junk art", jewelry. Submit to teacher by Wed, Apr 15.

norequestAPR 17: Parent Feedback Forms + No Request Policy

The teachers have been handing out optional Parent Feedback Forms [download PDF] at the parent teacher conference for each student. 

 

If you want to fill one out, please follow our No Request Policy, which states that we do not take parent requests for their child's teacher and class placement for the ensuing school year.

 

Please turn in to your teacher or Mr. Bass by April 17, 2015.

springfestivalAPR 26: Spring Festival - Save the Date & Volunteer to Help!
Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 26 noon-3pm!

The Spring Festival is the end of the year school community event. It's a great way for this amazing group of people to get together and celebrate a job well done---can you believe the year is almost over? 

We'll have lots of terrific games, delicious food, great live music, and our fabulous bake sale! Entry is FREE and all the games are FREE! Bring $$ for food, bake sale items, and fancy face paint options.

lgbtqAPR 28: Miraloma LGBTQ Family Potluck! 6-8pm, Cafeteria

San Francisco Unified recognizes LGBTQ Pride month in April and Miraloma will be hosting a potluck to celebrate our school's LGBTQ and Gender Variant community and allies.

 

Who: All are welcome! Families and students that identify as LGBTQ or Gender Variant. Friends and Allies of our LGBTQ and Gender Variant Community.

When: Tuesday, April 28th, from 6:00-8:00 pm

The full color Miraloma Yearbook 2014-2015 captures it all! In addition to the panel pages of students, teachers and staff, it includes the Fun Run, Halloween parade, Inclusive Schools Week, after school programs, field trips, class art projects, performances and other fun experiences of this school year. It's filled with images of art projects and dragon drawings by our fifth grade graduates!

In preparation for the new Smarter Balanced Assessments, students can take Online SBAC Practice Tests. These tests can only be taken on Google Chrome, Safari, and FireFox Web browsers.
