SEPT 25: Sing Along Update - new plan starts this Friday! |
This week at Miraloma we will begin our new Sing Along schedule.
This scheduling adjustment is based on the need for space due to our
class-size increase. Feedback has been collected from families and from staff. The new schedule is as follows:
Thursdays
8:05-8:30:
4th and 5th grade Sing Along
8:35-9:00:
Chorus Rotation for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade (once a month
per grade level)
Fridays
8:05-8:30:
Kindergarten and 1st grade Sing Along
8:35-9:00:
2nd and 3rd grade Sing Along
Additionally,
Sing Along Norms
will be posted and we ask that all adults
agree to these norms as an active participant:
- Students first: Please enter only after all classes have been seated. Please do not move any of the folding chairs placed for student use.
- Be mindful: This is student instructional time and part of the academic day. All conversations should remain outside the auditorium. Please silence your cell phones.
- Think safety: Exits must be clear at all times by law. Please enter and exit through the back doors of the auditorium.
Sing Along is one of our favorite times of the week at Miraloma! When we
all work together, each experience will be that much more meaningful.

OCT 1: Check Lost & Found Before Items Are Donated! |
Check out the Lost and Found shelves (located on the lower level by the staircase near the elevator)
by October 1, 2015. I will be picking up all remaining items for donation and will do my best to return marked items. There are a lot of clothes, cleats, books and water bottles waiting to be found.
Please
remember to label your child(ren)'s clothing and lunch items when they bring them to school.

OCT 3: Garden Work Party - including ice cream! |
Roll up your sleeves, grab a trowel, and dig into Miraloma's outstanding educational
garden
! This is a kid-friendly event on Saturday, Oct 3, from 10am-12pm with ice cream sandwiches promised at noon.
- We will weed the teaching and the sidewalk native gardens, deadhead perennials, prune trees and shrubs for Fall, and spread fresh mulch throughout.
- We also have a few simple carpentry assignments by request of our great new garden teacher, Danny Palmer.
Best of all, we get to spend a few hours outdoors in the season of the Bay Area's best weather, catching up with friends both old and new as we build our garden and, thereby, our community. Please join us!
