Please join the SSC & the PTA for our combined meeting on Monday, 3/21 from 6:00-7:30pm in the Library.
If you are interested in what is happening at Miraloma, this is the meeting to attend! It will give you insight into next year's budget, how the community (teachers, students, parents) is feeling, as well as being able to vote for next year's PTA slate.
Key topics on the agenda are:
- School Survey results will be presented by Survey Chair, Liz Hamel.
- Principal Bass will present the preliminary site budget from the District.
- We will be voting on our PTA Board for 2016-17. The proposed slate of candidates is as follows:

Final Auction Results!
The final auction results are in, and it's something we can be proud of. We raised a record $239,000 from our auction events. A few highlights:
- More than 340 people turned out to support our school
- Our amazing teachers brought in over $3,800 in tips for the school in an hour
- During Fund-a-Need paddles were raised almost 200 times to bring in $60,000 towards funding a quality PE Program for another year
- The signup parties & events brought in over $92,000!
This is a wonderful testament to the strong community we have here at Miraloma. It truly is a wonderful school. Thank you all!

MAR 21-25: SBAC 3rd Grade ELA

In preparation for the Smarter Balanced Assessments that our 3rd-5th grade students will be taking this Spring, students can take
Online SBAC Practice Tests.
These tests can only be taken on Google Chrome, Safari, and FireFox Web browsers. The testing schedule can be found on our
Miraloma Community Calendar.

APR 14: Kidpower Workshop |
PTA programs is coordinating a
Kidpower Workshop for our community.
We're excited to do this work because we know the impact Kidpower can have.
Kidpower People Safety skills don't just help people be safe- they help people communicate effectively, strengthen peer relationships, build confidence, and have more fun. You are enthusiastically invited to sign up for this Parent Workshop!
Kidpower workshops are known for being fun, active, and upbeat, and we're confident we'll walk away with skills we can use right away to help our kids be safer and have more fun everywhere they go. Here are the details:
When: Thursday, April 14 at 6:30-8:30PM
Where: Miraloma Elementary School, Auditorium
Who Is Invited to Register: This workshop is open to all parents, caregivers and staff working with elementary school-age children. The workshop is for adults. On-site childcare for school-age children is available for an additional, nominal fee. Advance notice with registration required.
Cost: $10/person. No one turned away for lack of funds.

If you want to fill one out,

No Request Policy, which states that we do not take parent requests for their child's teacher and class placement for the ensuing school year.

APR 24: Spring Festival Save the Date!

Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 24 noon-3pm!
The Spring Festival is our free end-of-the-year school community event. It's a great way for this amazing group of people to get together and celebrate a successful school year.
There will be games, prizes, delicious food, great live music, and our fabulous bake sale! You don't want to miss it!

APR 29: Talent Show
|
The annual Miraloma Talent Show celebrating the many talents of our student community is coming up! Students in upper grades (2-5) are invited to audition with individual or group performances.
APRIL 5, 2016: Permission Slips Due
All students who want to audition for the talent show must turn in completed and signed
permission slip to the box in the office. No late permission slips will be accepted. NO permission slip = No audition!
APRIL 6, 2-4:30pm: Audition Day in the Auditorium
Only students and the Talent Show committee will watch the auditions. Please send your child with extra snacks/water for this day. Children not in an after school program are to be picked up at 3pm.
APRIL 11, 18, 27, 2-4pm: Rehearsals in the Audtiorium
APRIL 29, 5:30-8pm: Miraloma Talent Show @ Denman MS
Pizza and baked goods will be for sale and benefit the Denman PTSA.
