PRINCIPAL PATERNITY LEAVE UPDATE

Mr. Ingber began his paternity leave yesterday and will be out until Tuesday, January 22nd. Until his return, we are fortunate to have former Assistant Superintendent/Principal Ms. Margaret Chiu at Miraloma covering for him starting today. During this time, Ms. Matarazzo will run Morning Circle on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, teachers will pick up students from Morning Circle spots right at the 7:50am bell. As always, please have your students arrive before the bell rings at 7:50am every day of the week Please join us in sending Mr. Ingber and his family our best wishes!

FRIDAY, JANUARY 11: MIDDLE SCHOOL & SIBLING KINDER REGISTRATION FOR 2019-2020

Middle School and Kindergarten Sibling enrollment applications are due THIS FRIDAY, January 11th, 2019. Forms can be turned in to Ms. Mallen in the school office. SFUSD requires 100% of the middle school enrollment applications from our 5th grade students by the January 11th, even if students are attending non-SFUSD schools. As of January 4th, 57% of our 5th graders have turned them in so thanks to everyone for your support getting the applications turned in!

MONDAY, JANUARY 14 5:45 PM: SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL MEETING
The SSC will meet in the library at 5:45pm on Monday, January 14th to work on our school-wide parent survey. All school community members are invited. 
FRIDAY, JANUARY 18: FAMILY DANCE PARTY
Join Ms. Matarazzo in the gym on Friday, January 18th from 6:30-8:00pm for Miraloma's 1st Annual Family Dance Night! 

All family members are welcome, so bring the whole crew!
Dancing is one of the easiest and most fun ways to get fit! We'll dance to pop hits, old skool favorites, Motown, and even do some line dances. You can suggest your favorite song or dance at the suggestion box near the main office, and we will do our best to put it on the playlist. 

Please note that no food will be served and only water will be allowed in the gym. We still need volunteers to make the night a success, so please sign up here if you can help out with set up or clean up. We hope to see you there!

JANUARY 21 & FEBRUARY 5: SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
Please remember that school will be closed on Monday, January 21st in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and on Tuesday, February 5th for Lunar New Year. There will be school on Monday, February 4th.
MARCH 2: HELP PREPARE FOR AUCTION 2019!

Miraloma's biggest fundraiser and party will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 6pm-12 midnight at the Verdi Club. The Auction team is already in high gear preparing for this great event!

How can you help us at this moment?
  • Join the team as Event Co-Planner and help our Event Lead, Jaime Dever, make auction night run smoothly. We're looking for an organized person to help plan, coordinate and help out during the event. Email auction@miralomasf.com for more info.
  • Tell us if you have a great live auction item to donate (e.g. vacation home, sports or show tickets) and/or connections in the hospitality business. Please contact our Procurement Lead, Lisa Burrell, at donations@miralomasf.com.
  • Save the date for the online auction -- February 20-27.  Find exclusive online deals that won't be available at the auction event!

Read-A-Thon Lead:
 It's time to pass the baton! Read-a-thon is looking for replacement chairs (or co-chairs) to take over the Read-a-thon next year. As part of the transition, we're hoping to find replacements that could shadow this year's coordinators. 

Fun Run Lead(s): The Fun Run Committee is looking for a new Chair or Co-Chairs for the 2019/2020 year. This is one of the most rewarding volunteer opportunities we have at Miraloma as this is such a memorable event for a our whole community.

Also, there is a small group of parents who are prepping carrots Wednesdays at 1pm in the Garden and invite others to join them whenever they're available.
