**SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS**
UPCOMING PARENT PROGRAM: CONVERSATION ABOUT RACE Facilitated by WORLD TRUST
Miraloma strives to be an inclusive and equitable school, and yet, we can always do better.  Join us for a community conversation about race and inequity, facilitated by World Trust and featuring the film Cracking the Codes: The System of Racial Inequity

Gather with fellow Miraloma parents and teachers to gain a practical framework for understanding one of the most urgent issues of our and our children's time--designed to create positive dialogue and build skills for continuing a school-wide conversation.

Wednesday, October 17
5:30-7:30pm
Miraloma Auditorium
Childcare and light dinner will be provided. Doors open at 5:15pm.

World Trust is a non-profit social justice organization that provides deep learning, tools and resources for people interested in tackling unconscious bias and systemic racial inequity in their workplace, community and in their lives. World Trust's skilled facilitators have led break-through dialogs for major corporations, universities, and nonprofit organizations nationwide.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21: PLANET MIRALOMA PREPARES FOR LIFTOFF!

We are less than two weeks away from the 2018 Fun Run on October 21st and we have a lot of fundraising left to do to make it a success!

Check out last weekend's fundraising email for tips on creating a fundraising page and ideas on what to say and how to say it.

CONGRATULATIONS  to Ms. Ginter's Kindergarten class with the highest fundraising participation numbers! Also, excellent work by Ms. Endo's first grade class on raising the most money so far. Want to see how we're doing as a school and how your class compares? Check out current fundraising stats  here

Second stage is cut, we're now in orbit. Stabilizers up, running perfect. There are lots of fun activities ahead in these final days of preparation. Read on and don't miss out! You can also find all the details here.
  • Today - Sign Up to Volunteer:  Make sure the Fun Run engine runs smoothly by signing up for a volunteer shift now. Lots of easy jobs are still available!  Click HERE for signups.
  • This Friday, October 12th - Vintage Fun Run T-Shirt Spirit Day: Time to dig out your old Fun Run gear for our school-wide Vintage T-Shirt Day. New to the school? Lost your T? Ask us, we have some relics!

We still do have a few urgent roles to fill, however.  Please consider saving the day by taking on one or more of the tasks below.
More Volunteers Needed

Miraloma Auction: Want to help raise money for all the programs that make Miraloma great? We need you! Reach out to auction@miralomasf.com for more information and to sign up.

SFUSD Enrollment Fair:  We still need a few parents to assist Principal Ingber in representing Miraloma at the annual  SFUSD Enrollment Fair  on Saturday, October 13 from 9:00am to 2:00pm at John O'Connell High School (2355 Folsom Street). Sign up here.

THE DRAGON IS HUNGRY!! ANNUAL FUND GIVING
Thank you to everyone who has donated to our Annual Fund campaign! If you haven't yet made your gift, online giving is simple and secure and you can amplify the impact of your contribution with a monthly donation.

Here are a few things that your donation makes possible: a full-time PE teacher, literacy specialists, social worker, teacher classroom support, community-building events, field trips and much, much more.

The Annual Fund is the biggest bang for your buck and for Miraloma. 100% of your donation goes directly to our school. Your support makes a real difference for our kids and our greater school community.
