TILED STEPS UPDATE
This month, Miraloma students will have an opportunity to work with artists Aileen Barr and Colette Crutcher to create unique tiles that will be combined to create our very own tiled-steps mosaic. At our Spring Festival on 4/14, we'll also have a tile-making workshop open to families and the whole community! This summer the tiles will be installed on the southern steps leading from our yard to the baseball field, through "Terabithia," and down to Bella Vista Way.

Aileen Barr and Colette Crutcher are famous for their tiled steps across the city; check out some of their work at 16thavenuetiledsteps.com.
OCEANS WEEK

Miraloma students across all grades have begun learning about various habitats and animals as part of our annual Oceans Week! Make sure to stop and appreciate the recycled-art ocean displays going up in the hallways.

This year we have teamed up with the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary for more in-depth/ hands-on learning. Read more about them here if you're interested.

We're also excited to continue our long-standing partnership with beloved storyteller and artist Ane Carla Rovetta. All Miraloma students get to work with her to create animal-inspired art and hear traditional stories about the animals they create. You can read more about Ane here.

**VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES**
TEACHER APPRECIATION LUNCH

The annual Teacher Appreciation Luncheon is fast-approaching (in May, exact date TBD)! We need a parent to shadow the current committee lead this year in preparation for taking over the reins next year. Duties include being available on luncheon day from drop off until about 3:30pm. Prior to the day, the prep involves planning, shopping, and organizing.

If you're interested in leading this fun and rewarding event for our remarkable teachers, please reach out to

SNACK COMMITTEE LEADS NEEDED

Looking to make a difference in our students' nutrition and raise their awareness of delicious organic fruits and veggies?

We need 1-2 parents to lead the 2019-2020 snack program! For more details, please e mail  volunteer@miralomasf.com  with questions and/or interest in this opportunity.

FUN RUN CO-CHAIRS NEEDED

CO-CHAIRS
NEEDED
The Fun Run Committee is *STILL* looking for new Co-Chairs for the 2019-2020 school year.  This is a rewarding volunteer opportunity to lead one of Miraloma's most important and memorable community-building events.

We know it's a big job: the PTA is busy splicing and dicing up the previous responsibilities of this role (which was a doozy!), to make it more manageable. Please reach out if you have any interest in hearing more.

Email
volunteer@miralomasf.com  with questions and/or interest in this opportunity.

2019/2020 LOGOWEAR SALES LEADS
Love our Miraloma merch and looking to help out? We need a creative lead (or two) to take over Miraloma logowear sales and perhaps even reinvent it some.

Email
volunteer@miralomasf.com  with questions and/or interest in this opportunity.
