OCT 13: Tour season is almost here, Miraloma!
Our first tour will be THIS FRIDAY, October 13! Can you spare an hour on this or another Friday morning this Fall? Please help show our school to prospective families by  signing up to assist with one or more tours this Fall.

Miraloma will have our next Early Release Day this year on Thursday, October 19 when the school day will finish at 11:20 am

OCT 22: FUN RUN Updates -- Pledge Pages & More!
Picnic & Food @ Fun Run
Rain or shine, help us as we work to make this event as green and earth friendly as possible by packing in and packing out your own family picnic. If you don't feel like packing a picnic, you should be able to find something for everyone available for purchase. Alongside the fantastic sweet baked treat sale, we will be selling more savory items including hot dogs and pizza, veggies with hummus and fruit.  Starting at 10am, there will also be a pancake breakfast with coffee. We are excited to announce that once again, all supplies will be biodegradable!

Volunteers make this program a success. There are lots of volunteer opportunities for Fun Run still available, so please click here to sign up.

Fun Run Walkstarter
Don't forget to register! It's free and it's how you raise pledges for your student's run!
Register and begin fundraising for Miraloma with your little runners! Log onto our Walkstarter page to create an individual fundraising page for your child to share with family and friends. Over 70% of the funds raised at Fun Run come from small family/friend donations. These funds help keep great programs like P.E., snack, and Art funded. No donation is too small!

Editor's note: In my family, we didn't think we would be able to raise too much with the Walkstarter campaign. So I reluctantly made a page for my child, hoping we'd get maybe 50 bucks. To date, we've earned more than $300! Give it a go.

School Site Council (SSC) Election Results
The School Site Council (SSC)  Election Results are in!

Congratulations to Liz Hamel and Meghan Wallace on winning this year's SSC election. It was a hard fought campaign season with mudslinging, many nasty attack ads, and the most money ever spent on a SSC election. Just kidding!

On a more serious note. Thanks to all the nominees; we really appreciate your interest, and we hope that all of you join our SSC as alternates. Finally, please note that all SSC meetings are open to the community. All are welcome.  

Need Hospitality Supplies? The PTA can help!

VOLUNTEER
CALL FOR AN AUCTION CO-CHAIR!

2018 will be the 10th Annual Miraloma Auction and it is a smooth running machine with a rock-star team in place. We need an Auction Co-Chairperson to partner with our current (and seasoned) Co-Chair Catherine Homsey to help steer the team and make this the best auction yet!  

The annual Auction is our school's single biggest fundraising activity of the year. Proceeds from the Auction fund a variety of student enrichment programs such as PE, the STEAM lab, gardening, dance, class field trips, healthy snack, literacy programs, and more.  

Make a difference in your child's education and join the team!

Recess is an integral part of our children's socio-emotional development. We need to make sure that recess is a positive space for our students with enough adults on the yard to provide supervision. You need absolutely no experience to be qualified for this. You can commit to a weekly or monthly schedule as well as to drop in.
