**SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS**
TONIGHT: BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT, 5:30-7:00PM
Join us TONIGHT for Back to School Night  from 5:30-7:00pm!

Here is the schedule:
5:30-5:40: Whole community meets on the yard in morning circle spots for Principal's Welcome
5:40-5:45: Families travel to classrooms
5:45-6:15: Classroom presentations*
6:15-6:30: Final questions, stop by other classrooms, etc.
6:30-7:00: PTA Dessert Reception & Mini-Volunteer Fair in cafeteria.  Learn more about all the exciting ways you can volunteer your time and/or talents. Your support helps make Miraloma great!
 
*All families with more than one child should attend the class of the oldest sibling

Childcare: please try to make arrangements for your child(ren) to stay at home for this event. Limited childcare will be provided for school-aged children only. Drop off and pick up will be in the auditorium.

URGENT VOLUNTEER NEED: SNACK BIN HELPERS ON WED & THURS
We still need snack bin cleaners on Wednesdays and Thursdays!   It only takes 20 minutes and can be done anytime after 11am, including after school/YMCA pick up.  Sign up for every week or alternate weeks with another volunteer.  (It's also a great opportunity for your kids to perform some community service!) Please email snack@miralomasf.com if you're interested or have any questions.
OTHER REMINDERS: MULTIPURPOSE INCOME FORM, PTA MEMBERSHIP, ETC.
Other reminders:
  • Sign up for your 2018-19 PTA Membership for only $5.50! Renewals are required EACH school year. 
  • Please submit the Multipurpose Family Income Form online at SchoolCafe.com even if your family is not interested. Click here for tips on filling out the form. The forms are required by SFUSD, plus Miraloma receives additional funding for each application that's filled out regardless of eligibility or interest. 
  • Check out the new SFUSD Student and Family Handbook 2018-19.

FRIDAY, SEPT 14: MIRALOMA RUNNING CLUB 7:15AM
We had a great turnout last Friday at the first meeting of the new Miraloma Running Club! 43 students, 21 parents/siblings, 3 teachers AND 1 principal came out bright and early to run around the track (aka the upper yard). 


The Running Club will continue every Friday  morning
from 7:15-7:40am. Everyone is invited to join regardless of 
ability or running experience. You can walk, jog, or run to earn tokens. Come as you are and have fun!

MONDAY, SEPT 17: SSC MEETING & 2018-19 ELECTION
Join the 2018-19 School Site Council (SSC) for their first meeting of the year on Monday, September 17, from 5:45-6:45 pm in the Library. 
 
What is the SSC?
The  School Site Council (SSC) is an elected group of an equal number of parents, teachers, and/or staff. The role of the SSC is to advise the principal on the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the school's "Balanced Scorecard," which in turn informs the school budget. THURSDAY, SEPT 20: EARLY RELEASE DAY AT 11:20AM IS CONFIRMED
Miraloma's first Early Release Day is CONFIRMED for Thursday, September 20. The school day will finish at 11:20 am.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT 26: PTA GENERAL MEETING AND VOLUNTEER FAIR 6-7:30PM
 Join the PTA Board 
and Mr. Ingber for the first PTA meeting of the school year and a Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, Sept 26 from 6-7:30pm in the Cafeteria.  Learn more about each  Committee  and all the  volunteering opportunities  at Miraloma and get ready to jump in. 

Childcare and pizza will be provided. The general meetings and volunteer fair are excellent ways to get involved and have fun making our school great. We look forward to seeing you there!

Smile you're on camera! Miraloma will have Picture Day on Thursday, September 27, during the school day. Remind your students to be prepared to show their pearly whites.
