As we observe with grief and horror the racist killing spree that occurred in Buffalo, NY, and the hate crime perpetrated against the Irvine Taiwanese PCUSA church in California last weekend, please join us in praying for the victims, their families, the city of Buffalo, Laguna Woods, CA, and the Los Ranchos Presbytery.
Together we denounce the manifestation of white supremacist violence that is antisemitic, anti-Black, anti-immigrant, and steeped in fear, hatred, and anger. Together we stand against the theory of “white replacement” that fueled the attack in Buffalo.
Together we stand in solidarity with those traumatized by the violence that occurred during a luncheon at the Irvine Taiwanese PCUSA church. Let us continue to commit ourselves as a presbytery to ministering in the way of Jesus, a way that calls out racist violence that tarnishes the beloved community at the heart of the good news of Jesus Christ we proclaim.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers for the families, friends, and communities who grieve the loss of those we name:

Margus D. Morrison
