Top 3 Tips to Prepare for the Fall Rating Period

1) Forgot Password?

Once logged in to DRDP Online, follow these steps to change your password:

  • Select User Profile in the top left corner of the page.
  • Select Update Password next to your name. Your new password must contain the following:
  • Eight (8) characters long
  • Upper- and lower-case letters
  • Numbers, symbols, or special characters (@,$,%,*,!)

2) Adding Classrooms

To add a class, users must have an administrator role, such as Lead Agency Administrator, Agency Administrator, Site Administrator, or Teacher of Record + Enrollment.

Select an option below to set up classes in DRDP Online:

Option 1

Use the Upload Class Template. For more information, view the Uploading Classes video here or on the DRDP Resources YouTube channel.

Option 2

  • Select the Setup Menu tab.
  • Select Classroom.
  • Select the blue tab on the top right, +Add New Classroom.
  • Name the classroom and select the Site.
  • Select Save.
  • Select Return to Set up Menu.
  • Select Teacher Assignments and Rating Period.
  • Select + Add Teacher Assignments and Rating Periods (top right corner of the screen).
  • Select the classroom created from the drop-down menu.
  • Complete the teacher information and select Save.

3) Transfer or Reenroll Children

  • Children’s ratings must be locked in the previous rating period before transferring or re-enrolling them into the new rating period.
  • The re-enroll process will ask for a classroom start date. This is the date the child is enrolled in the new rating period (not the agency enrollment date). The classroom start date must be within the rating period window (see Standard Rating Period Date Ranges 2025-2026).

California Early Childhood Programs—Become an Early Adopter of DRDP (2025)

The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) and California Department of Education (CDE), in partnership with WestEd, are inviting California programs serving infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and TK–grade 3 students to become early adopters of the DRDP (2025) beginning Fall 2025. Programs that opt in can use DRDP (2025) instead of DRDP (2015) OR use both.

Please note that for children with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or an Individualized Family Services Plan (IFSP), the DRDP (2015) remains a requirement.

Visit Desired Results for Children and Families for DRDP (2025) training information.
