2023 marks a big year for both DRE and I. DRE is celebrating 40 years in business, and I am celebrating 30 years with DRE!

We will be doing a throwback series on LinkedIn all year long focusing on past projects, significant milestones in DRE’s history and a dig through the photo archives... It’s going to be a fun walk down memory lane.

Did you know that DRE started 40 years ago with Chem-Trete as our first product line? Volclay Panels was added in 1985. I think it is amazing that Evonik and CETCO are still valued partners and make up a large percentage of our business.

Below Grade Leakage - Causes and Solutions

Leakage through below grade foundation walls is an unfortunate and common occurrence in many new and older buildings. Foundation wall waterproofing systems are always changing as technologies and systems evolve, however, these components are often poorly designed and can be poorly installed during original construction. For many older buildings there may never have been a waterproofing system installed at time of original construction. This presentation will provide background on typical foundation wall assemblies and waterproofing systems employed, the typical failure mechanisms that lead to leakage, and provide discussion on several approaches to deal with the leakage. The solutions presented will vary based upon their cost and overall performance level, with the pros and cons of each option being presented.

Expansion Joints Webinar

Join us for a presentation that will discuss the performance benefits of the Willseal expansion joint system and have a technical overview of key performance criteria such as, durability of the expansion joint, movement capabilities, elongation parameters, UV resistance, and the multifaced ability to resist water penetration. The presentation will also highlight the product portfolio for key application scenarios.

Traffic Rated Systems – This section will focus on Willseal® 250 a pre-compressed, self-expanding open micro-cell polyurethane foam expansion joint. Additionally, we will also be reviewing our thermoplastic rubber wing gland system termed “Armorcrete”.

Architectural Vertical Façade Applications – This section will focus on the various façade expansion joint systems that the Willseal product line offers. Including the Willseal® Coreseal, a lightweight preformed closed-cell ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer foam available in an array of silicone colour facers, Willseal PF100 a pre-compressed watertight and airtight foam joint seal with a silicone facer for a single solution final façade joint, and Willseal 600/600S, a breathable primary (600) or secondary (600S) self-expanding foam joint seal for vertical applications.

Fire Rated Assemblies – An overview of the horizontal and vertical Willseal foam expansion joint systems, which are tested and certified under UL 2079 as a fire rated assembly.
