Students Crystal and Nigel with
D.R.E.A.M. Executive Director Sherri Landis (with student Tory via Facetime)
Last year the D.R.E.A.M. Partnership, a subsidiary of UCP Central PA, received a program grant from UCP Foundation of Central PA and launched the DREAM News Correspondent Blogging Program, the first of its kind in the United States! Students attending D.R.E.A.M.-supported programs at Penn State University - Harrisburg, Arcadia University, Slippery Rock University, and Temple University are eligible to apply. Students will be writing blogs on their college experiences.

The blog was created to "give a voice to college students in Pennsylvania who are interested in blogging about their experiences in post-secondary education programs". Three enthusiastic students, Crystal, Nigel, and Tory, completed their training in December, and they've already started publishing. Their stories can be found at thedreamnewsblog.wordpress.com.

HEARTS WITHOUT LIMITS
Volunteering from the heart...

Hearts without Limits
Hearts without Limits
Every Friday, UCP Colonial Park Alternative's staff and consumers give back to the community by volunteering at RSVP of the Capital Region in Camp Hill.

Last week, program aide Melissa took Laura and Brian to create a special set of Valentine's Day cards to be given to U.S. veterans at the Lebanon VA Hospital. They were joined in their efforts by RSVP volunteer coordinator Juli, and RSVP volunteer, Eanie. The result will warm your heart. Check out the video!
Registration is OPEN for the Highmark Walk
Counting steps? These steps count...in more ways than one!

Register now  to participate with the UCP Foundation of Central PA (UCP) in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community, presented by Highmark Blue Shield on Saturday, May 20, 2017  at Harrisburg Area Community College. So plan now to kick-off your winter boots and put on your walking shoes!

There are several ways you can get involved
  • Join the 5K or One-Mile Fun Walk
  • Form or join a team of walkers
  • Sponsor a team
  • Make a monetary contribution
  • Be a virtual walker
Highmark Blue Shield underwrites the cost of the walk so that 100 percent of the money raised by our walkers goes directly to UCP, supporting our programs and services for people of all ages, with all types of disabilities and special needs. In the past 2 years alone, our walkers have raised almost $10,000 for UCP!

Register now to join the 5K or One-Mile Fun Walk, and raise funds to support life without limits for people with disabilities.

Harrisburg ONLY...walkers who sign up by May 1st will receive a ticket voucher to a future City Islanders Soccer game. Voucher will be distributed at the Harrisburg Walk.
