We are so excited to announce that our PILATES APPARATUS classes will be available on a DROP IN basis year round.
Hello flexibility!
Now you can sign up online to attend random APPARATUS classes when it suits your schedule.
DROP IN PILATES classes will start on SEPTEMBER 8th.
Drop In Spots may be limited as Pre-Registered Pilates Members will have priority class reservations prior to us opening Drop In Spots to the public. You can join the waitlist for a class and if others cancel from class, the waitlisted members will be notified.
*NOTE: We will continue to accept PRE-REGISTRATION for Pilates Apparatus classes in the 8-week session format that we've historically had. Pre-Registration means you commit to a specific day and time, pre pay, and have a guaranteed spot every week for the 8 weeks (compare this to signing up for swimming lessons for a session). Those who Pre-Register for a Pilates Apparatus session enjoy preferred pricing.

MAT vs APPARATUS
Mat Pilates is the traditional floor work. The matwork is a series of movement that promotes spine mobility (flexion, extension, rotation, & side bending), core strength, coordination and body awareness. Small equipment is often added to the exercises for variety, modification, or challenge.
All mat classes are co-ed.
Apparatus Pilates is what we call our classes that use the large specialized pilates equipment...this includes the REFORMER, the CADILLAC FRAME, and the STABILITY CHAIR. These machines operate on spring tension and add challenge and feedback to the body. The machines are used for resistance but also for assistance to support the body in achieving the desired positions. We accept up to 7 people in an apparatus class. All classes are co-ed, and we also offer Men's Apparatus classes.
Pilates is an exercise technique that focuses on regaining 'neutral posture' and building the strength and length in the muscles to maintain this ideal way of functioning.
There are five principles involved in every movement...pelvic placement, rib cage placement, shoulder blade placement, neck placement, and breathing.
Pilates is a neuromuscular exercise technique, incorporating cues for muscles, bones, nervous system, fascial system, and respiratory/circulatory system.
You'll learn coordinated, integrated, correct movement.
If you are new to PILATES a 1 hour initial private is strongly encouraged. Please email us to schedule your private pilates appointment.
