Sustainable Gastronomy
Sustainable Gastronomy refers to cuisines that take into account where food is grown and how it gets to our markets, and eventually to our dinner table.
Both producers and consumers are responsible for practicing sustainable gastronomy– one simple way to do is by supporting local food markets, small producers/farmers/fishermen, and small businesses. Be local in your choice!

Tianjin Colonial Architecture
The development of modern Tianjin began during the Ming dynasty (1368–1644), when the national capital was shifted from Nanjing to Beijing. In 1404 the settlement became a garrison town and was named Tianjinwei. Occupation by the Anglo-French Allied Force in 1860 forced Tianjin into becoming one of China's earliest trading ports. The foreign concessions were concession territories within the city of Tianjin ceded by Qing Dynasty to a number of European countries, the United States and Japan. There were altogether nine foreign concessions in old Tianjin on the eve of World War II.
The group of concessions that existed during the late Imperial China and the Republic of China, were governed and occupied by foreign powers, and are frequently associated with colonialism and imperialism.
The remaining foreign settlements now form a rather large cluster of ancient European-style buildings. The city is home to almost 14M inhabitants and is one of China's four municipalities, which hold the same rank as provinces. Tianjin is a famous historical city where western and eastern culture meet and mingle.
