A letter from the President...
At our Gala this past March, special guest Robbie Kroger of The Origins Foundation presented a unique request, seeking our assistance in supporting a historic relocation project for cheetahs. DSC South Texas proved to be the ideal platform to showcase his passion, and the Panyame Cheetah Conservation Project was introduced through a video presentation accompanied by images.
Shannon Ralston, a name now becoming synonymous with conservation was there having previously supported the rhino relocation project at Buffalo Kloof. She has now extended her commitment to the cheetah conservation effort, both of which were showcased on the DSC South Texas stage. Her contributions went beyond financial support, as she traveled to South Africa to participate in the largest cheetah relocation project in history, successfully relocating 12 cats. This endeavor was a testament to her hands-on approach, reminiscent of her involvement in the rhino relocation project. Thanks to her efforts and those of other donors, the cheetahs are thriving in their new environment, protected and monitored through tracking collars. We look forward to following their progress through updates from Robbie Kroger and social media!
DSC South Texas, Trinity Oaks and SCI Alamo Chapter came together andshared an event on Nov. 20th at the Snyder Trophy Room. Their trophy’s were all very well displayed by the talented works of Double Nickel Taxidermy. The event had some of the best game meats served to our guests, wines from Africa along with whiskey provided by Rebecca Creek. We had generous donations for our raffle from various outfitters, guns, cigars, coolers and some beautiful furs and jewelry. It was such a great success and we appreciate all who joined us!
The 2026 DSC Convention and Sporting Expo at the Georgia World Congress in Atlanta, GA is February 6-8, 2026 is approaching quickly and we are looking forward to seeing you all there.
Our South Texas chapter is already working on our 2026 gala which will be March 21st, 2026 at Pedrotti’s Ranch. If you are interested in purchasing sponsorships, table or a vendor booth please reach out and let us know. We are bringing new vendors to our event and look forward to our new relationships.
We have also kicked-off our membership drive which will run through January 15, 2026. If you purchase a LIFE membership between now and then, you will be entered in a drawing for a rifle. If you purchase an annual membership we will also have a drawing for a “Goodie Box” to give away.
