Dear Coalition for a DSP Living Wage:

There are events coming up in Trenton where we need your support and participation.

  • DSP Coalition Rally to Raise Wages!

The most important is a planned DSP Coalition Rally at the New Jersey State House in Trenton on Monday, May 13 . Bring your friends, families, colleagues and anyone else who wants to see a sustainable DSP workforce!

The Coalition is rallying on May 13th to raise awareness about the critical need for lawmakers to invest $54 million of new state funding in FY2020 (plus a $54 million federal match) to secure a competitive DSP wage that’s 25% above the minimum wage.

Please SAVE THE DATE MAY 13 th and plan to join us in Trenton to make your voice heard!

Full event details including options for parking and transportation are in the works and will be provided shortly .

In the meantime, please spread the word with phone calls, social media, meetings of organizations that might be interested in issues impacting people with disabilities - about the NJ State House Rally on May 13 , as we need as many supporters in Trenton as possible that day. The bigger the showing, the bigger our message to legislators that they MUST make a significant investment in DSP wages in FY2020!

  • Department of Human Services Budget Hearings

If you can’t make the Rally on May 13, there are two other opportunities to show your support for increased wages for DSPs. New Jersey Department of Human Services Commissioner Carole Johnson will be testifying before the Senate and Assembly Budget Committees. Please join us in the audience on one or both dates noted below, so that we can show a large unified presence in support of a competitive wage for DSPs that’s 25% above minimum wage.
