Mileage claimed through the Kistler Center is for community integration and non-medical transportation. 

Medical transport should be claimed through Verida (See below for additional information


Verida Gas Reimbursement Program


Verida Transportation Hours:

Miles for medical appointments will not be approved by the CCS. 

When claiming mileage for community integration and non-medical transport, please include specific places you go and the miles.


Example: 

I took Amy from her home to Walmart (8 Miles) to get some groceries for the week. We then went by Sonic (2 miles) to get a drink on the way home. From Sonic, we returned home (7 miles).

Total miles: 17


Human Resources Update

Effective Immediately:


Per the policy of the State of Arkansas and PASSE entities, DSPs will no longer be paid when traveling out of the country with a person served. Travel outside of the country will be considered natural support.

Don't miss open enrollment! This is the one time during the year that you can pick up our insurance, make any changes to your coverage(s), or drop your insurance plan!

NEW: PTO ROLL OVER POLICY



The end of the year is quickly approaching. If you are not planning to roll over any hours, be planning to use the PTO you have available before you run out of time! You can only roll over 40 hours or less.


New this year, if you want to roll over your time, you do not need to email. Any time you have remaining up to 40 hours at the end of the year, we will roll over for you!

Summer Pool Party!

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our Summer Pool Party! We had a blast and look forward to our next event this fall!

DSP of the Month

Congratulations to Sandy Downs on being chosen as the

July 2026 DSP of the Month!


Sandy has been a DSP with the Kistler Center since July 2014!


"Sandy is being nominated by Patti Bench, mother of her Person Served. Patti said, "Sandy needs an award. She is wonderful with her Person. She steps up to take him to various events. She is responsible and us keeps all things on track. She communicates all needs between the family and KTC when needed." I also agree with Patti, as Sandy has been a great DSP to work with; and I second all of those comments."

Criteria to be Selected for DSP of the Month:

  • Consistent, on- time attendance for shifts
  • Good attitude
  • Flexible
  • Notes are consistently turned in on time
  • Consistently clocks in/out
  • Consistently turns in paperwork on time
  • Good communication with CCSs, Person(s) Served, HR
  • Regularly checks email and answers text messages/phone calls
  • Organized
  • Follows Plan of Care for Person Served


To nominate someone for DSP of the Month, please email their first and last name and why you are nominating them to dev@kistlercenter.org.


Nominations for August are due Friday, August 28th. Center Staff, DSPs, and Persons Served can all nominate someone for DSP of the Month.


The CES Waiver Leadership Team in partnership with HR and the Executive Director will review the nominations to make a selection each month. All DSPs who are nominated will be given a shout out.
