STATE REQUIRED Annual & Setworks Training Reminder!

Training will take place at the Bakery District in Downtown Fort Smith.


The address is 70 S 7th St. Fort Smith, AR 72901.


Once you arrive, there will be signs and Kistler Center Staff helping direct you to the correct place. Please see the parking map by clicking the link below for parking options.

DSP Resources

We now have a dedicated DSP Resources section on the Kistler Center website. You will find a feedback form on the home page. Within the DSP Resource Menu, you will find a staff directory, HR information, general policies/expectations, a calendar of community events, community resources, and more. Click the button below to check it out!

Community Resources

With the news that SNAP benefits will be unavailable in November, we have created a list of food pantries as a resource for our Persons Served who may need it. If you have a Person Served who needs assistance with food, please let their CCS know.


You can also use the list linked below as a reference. It is published on the Kistler Center website in the DSP Resources Section under Community Resources. Food pantries are sorted by county.

Human Resources Update

Nikki Lockhart's last day at the Kistler Center was 10/30/2025. We wish her the best in her next adventure!


Until Nikki's position is filled, all HR communication should be sent to HR Manager, Brian Johnston at bjohnston@kistlercenter.org until further notice. Brian can be reached by phone at 479-785-4677.

DSP of the Month

Congratulations to Rosalina Portillo on being chosen as the

October 2025 DSP of the Month!


Rosalina has been a DSP with the Kistler Center since May 2025!


"Rosalina is always taking her Person Served to the Arc and getting her out of the house as much as she can. Whatever the Person Served's mom needs, Rosalina is always there and happy to help. Her Person Served's mom has told me multiple times how good Rosalina is with her daughter and how much Rosalina helps her out as the caregiver physically and emotionally as well! Rosalina has picked up overnight shifts multiple times when the mom needs or asks her too. She is very sweet and very good with her Person Served and the whole family!"

Criteria to be Selected for DSP of the Month:

  • Consistent, on- time attendance for shifts
  • Good attitude
  • Flexible
  • Consistently clocks in/out
  • Consistently turns in paperwork on time
  • Good communication with CCSs, Person(s) Served, HR
  • Regularly checks email and answers text messages/phone calls
  • Organized
  • Follows Plan of Care for Person Served


To nominate someone for DSP of the Month, please email their first and last name and why you are nominating them to dev@kistlercenter.org.


Nominations for October are due Wednesday, November 19th. Center Staff, DSPs, and Persons Served can all nominate someone for DSP of the Month.


The CES Waiver Leadership Team in partnership with HR and the Executive Director will review the nominations to make a selection each month. All DSPs who are nominated will be given a shout out.
