California State Medicaid Waiver Highlights
A recent publication by Kaiser Health News entitled "California And Federal Officials Reach Deal On Medicaid Reforms" on November 2, 2015 highlights progress towards the renewal of a Medicaid waiver, very similar to NYS DSRIP program, in California. Their 5-year program called "Bridge to Reform," created programs such as supporting chronically ill patients and expanding primary care clinics. Other examples referenced in the article include programs helping reduce deaths by sepsis infections and the number of patients with uncontrolled diabetes. The new program proposal is called "Medi-Cal 2020" and will look to engage in another 5-year waiver to continue to support the programs initiated. Click here to read more.
