America's War Business & Endless Wars

DWF NEWS has repeatedly warned that the U.S. is in the War Business. The result has been "endless wars." It is easy to predict that a "next war" is in the making. U.S. politicians announce bigger and bigger defense budgets, and always hint of more "enemies" somewhere in the world who threaten "national security."

Israel has been a gold mine of constant conflicts and wars requiring US financial and weapons support to help Israel maintain its apartheid arrangement against the Palestinians including the violent Jewish takeover of Palestinian lands and homes in the West Bank.

The U.S. War Machine is so powerful it apparently can even influence the Norwegian Nobel Peace Prize committee to select war criminals for the award, eg, Kissinger, Obama, and now Machado who supports an illegal and potentially violent takeover of Venezuela.

Ukraine has been a handy proxy war, superb for the U.S. war business which gets even bigger if the war can be expanded into Russia itself if and when President Trump gives Ukraine tomahawk missiles which could reach Moscow.

Sadly, world disarmament and peace is rarely mentioned in mainstream media. DWF NEWS challenges that silence with Dr. Glen T. Martin's descriptive plan for universal disarmament utilizing the Earth Constitution to form Earth Federation government -- what I like to call establishing a "new UN."

Twin reports from the Costs of War Project find the US has backed Israel with more than $21bn since October 2023.

Israel would not have been able to sustain its wars across the Middle East without the United States’s significant financial backing of more than $21bn since October 2023, according to a pair of new reports.

The reports, which were released by the Costs of War Project at Brown University, found that: without US weapons and money, Israel wouldn’t have been able to sustain its genocidal war on Gaza, start a war with Iran, or repeatedly bomb Yemen.

The report’s findings are also backed up by analysts who said Israel’s wars in Gaza and in the wider region could not have continued without US financial and diplomatic support.

“US support for Israel at all levels is indispensable to the prosecution of Israel’s war both in Gaza and across the region,” Omar H Rahman, a fellow at the Middle East Council on Global Affairs, told Al Jazeera.

Israel’s war on Gaza alone has killed at least 67,160 people and wounded another 169,679 since October 2023.

Thousands are still believed to be under the Gaza Strip’s ruins, while Israel has killed dozens in strikes on Yemen and killed more than 1,000 people when it attacked Iran in June.

“[This] bipartisan support … allowed a serial violator of international law for pretty much its entire existence with the support of the democratic West without being questioned in a significant way in the political and social mainstream,” Rahman said.

However, many Americans have started to move away from the mainstream position on Israel. In recent months, as scholars declared Israel’s actions in Gaza a genocide, public perception of Israel in the US has severely degraded.

Nobel Peace Prize goes to a war criminal

Nobel Peace Prize Winner Supports Israel's Genocide & Trump's War on Venezuela

The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to María Corina

Machado, a far-right coup leader in Venezuela who has been funded by the US government for decades.

Machado has openly called for the US military to invade Venezuela, in order to overthrow the revolutionary Chavista government of President Nicolás Maduro.

She is at the heart of the war that Donald Trump has waged on Venezuela. Machado has endorsed the US military’s extrajudicial executions of Venezuelans in boats in international waters, echoing the Trump administration’s unsubstantiated, evidence-free claims that it is supposedly killing “drug traffickers”.

Machado also supports the illegal, unilateral US sanctions that have killed hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans.

Likewise, Machado has expressed staunch support for Israel as it carried out genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Nobel Peace Prize for war criminals

The fact that a pro-war, far-right coup-plotter like Machado was given a Nobel Peace Prize demonstrates how extremely hypocritical the award is.

This hypocrisy is far from new.

US imperial planner Henry Kissinger was given a so-called Nobel Peace Prize in 1973, despite the fact that he was one of the worst war criminals in modern history, with the blood of millions of victims on his hands, in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Bangladesh, Chile, and beyond.

Former US President Barack Obama also won a so-called Nobel Peace Prize in 2009. His administration then went on to wage nonstop war. Obama bombed seven countries: Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen.

This is by no means the first time that the Norwegian Nobel Committee has been hypocritical. But giving the prize to María Corina Machado is especially outrageous, because it comes precisely at a moment when, one, she has been supporting Israel’s genocide in Gaza; and two, she is working with Donald Trump to wage war and use violence to try to overthrow Venezuela’s government.  READ MORE

Washington's obsession with oil and control could spark another bloody coup

Will the US Attack Venezuela? Roger D. Harris         RESUMEN

EXCERPTS
Washington has persistently interfered in the internal affairs of Venezuela, pouring millions of dollars to rig elections. Yet, the perpetually divided and unpopular US-fostered opposition is more isolated and discredited than ever.

Undeterred by its 2002 failed coup, the US has repeatedly sponsored attempts to achieve by violence what they could not do by interfering in Venezuelan elections. In 2020, the so-called “Operation Gideon” was designed to kidnap President Maduro. Derisively dubbed the “Bay of Piglets,” this coup attempt along with numerous others failed. Local fisher folk apprehended the mercenaries.

Among the many diplomatic efforts at regime change by Washington, the Lima Group was cobbled together in 2017. The cabal of 11 rightwing Latin American states and Canada aspired to facilitate “a peaceful exit” to oust Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. By 2021, nearly half of the Lima Group countries had elected progressive governments and that diplomatic offensive fizzled.

Meanwhile in 2019, the US anointed unknown 35-year-old Juan Guaidó as “interim president” of Venezuela. On December 21, 2022, his own opposition found the puppet so toxic and corrupt that they gave him the boot.

Venezuela has indeed been a challenge. Even before Hugo Chávez was elected in 1998, former President Carlos Andrés Pérez nationalized the country’s oil reserves – the largest in the world – in 1976. Chávez increased state control over the oil industry and expropriated international oil company assets.

Chávez’s precedent of using the country’s natural resources – including Venezuela’s substantial reserves of natural gas, iron ore, bauxite, gold, coal, and diamonds – to fund social programs, rather than handing them over for private profit, is anathema to the US. Not only does the imperium lust over the oil for its own corporations, but control of such strategic resources are geopolitically critical for maintaining global dominance.  READ MORE

Trump pokes the dragon, and China hits back

China's Had Enough ... Xi Calls Trump's Bluff

Donald Trump and the citizens of the US are about to learn some very hard, costly lessons. If you’re going to get into a trade war with another country, you should be sure that you control or have access to all the critical minerals and resources you need to produce essential items, such as weapons, drones or prescription drugs. Trump and his team failed to understand this critical issue and have now provoked China into a trade war that the US cannot win.

Trump has been provoking China for several years. For example, Huawei was banned in the United States through an executive order issued by President Donald Trump on May 15, 2019, which led to the Department of Commerce adding Huawei to its Entity List, restricting US companies from doing business with Huawei due to national security concerns. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) later voted unanimously to ban the sale of new Huawei devices and equipment in the US to further secure communications networks.

More recently, in response to Trump’s tariffs, China stopped purchasing soybeans from US farmers and is now buying almost exclusively from Brazil. That has caused some major pain for US farmers, and Trump recently announced that was one of the issues he planned to discuss with Xi at the upcoming APEC summit. Looks like that won’t be happening.

China is now punching back with power. READ MORE

Lawmakers have an antidote for Washington's China panic

Rep. Adam Smith recently led a congressional delegation with a wild idea: Visiting Beijing and talking to Chinese leaders

In the midst of the U.S. government shutdown and controversy over military deployments in American cities, partisanship in Congress sometimes seems out of control. But legislators of both parties can still set aside their animosities when it comes to hyping conflict with China.

On Monday, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair Jim Risch introduced his Deter PRC Aggression Against Taiwan Act. On Tuesday, the House Select Committee on China issued a bipartisan report pressing to tighten the U.S. embargo against China on advanced semiconductors. On Wednesday, the Senate Committee on Aging highlighted “the terrifying reality” that, on generic pharmaceuticals, “our nation is completely beholden to Communist China.”

But the bipartisan China panic might finally be facing pushback — not from partisan passions but from a nascent bipartisan coalition that has long feared confrontation with the world’s other superpower but up to now was cowed into silence.

Rep. Adam Smith’s (D-Wash.) recent congressional delegation to China is illustrative of the potential. Joined by Reps. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), Chrissy Houlahan (D-Pa.), and Michael Baumgartner (R-Wash.), this was the first visit by members of the House of Representatives since 2019.

Congressional delegations to China used to be routine. In the 2010s, an average of nearly six delegations made the trip each year, with members participating well over 200 times that decade.

Even at the height of China panic, however, a handful in Congress warned that turning China into our enemy is a disaster in the making. In 2023, Smith condemned the idea that we need to “punch [adversaries] in the face repeatedly at every opportunity and that’s what’s going to help us. … [A]ll this overheated rhetoric about how you can’t even talk to China because that just shows you are weak is really troubling.” READ MORE

Building an Earth without Armies

Transition to a Nonmilitary Earth Federation through the World Disarmament Agency

Dr. Glen T. Martin       substack.com

The Constitution for the Federation of Earth (aka Earth Constitution) ensures democratically legislated civil law for the entire Earth. Civil law has certain key characteristics that require enforcement by civilianpolice who are both accountable to the principles of good government and who are trained in the protection of human rights and dignity. The first of these principles is that individuals are accountable to the law, not collectivities (like nation-states) that can be attacked in toto. Even when the law governs some group (like corporations), sanctions and enforcement under the Earth Constitution hold individuals accountable.

For example, there will be no more impunity for CEOs or corporate executives who are responsible for the policies and actions of a corporation but who hide behind the corporate identity as a “legal person.” The same will be true for nation-states. It will no longer be the case that some president or prime minister who orders the military to attack a perceived enemy is immune from personal accountability. The very essence of genuine legitimate law is the premise of individual accountability of each person for his or her actions.

In a world characterized by militarized power centers capable of lethal violence independently of the lawful use of force, any nation or power center that renounces its capacity for arbitrary lethal destruction appears to be left vulnerable to attack and foreign domination. The Earth Constitution envisages a world in which there exists not a multiplicity of lawless militarized fragments but one in which the sovereignty of humankind legislates laws enforceable by civilian police, thereby instituting for humankind a nonviolent civilization that has ended all war and institutionalized a planetary peace system, i.e., a system of democratic law enforceable over all individual persons.

All this appears well and good. However, great problems arise when we consider the transitional period from the current fragmented system of militarized sovereign nation-states to an Earth Federation ensuring the equable rule of law for all. The issue involves how to convert governing from this fragmented world system predicated on some 193 systems of legitimate law within a lawless militarized global framework (that undercuts the very meaning of lawfulness) with the possibility of arbitrary militarized lethal destruction and violence.

... A key Commission in this process is the World Disarmament Commission (Article 19.1.2.4) that will develop a “World Disarmament Agency” dedicated to the conversion from a militarized world of lethal lawlessness to the civilized world of planetary lawfulness. As described in Article 17.5, all militaries and weapons of war will be entirely dismantled by the time of the final operative stage of the Earth Federation and all existing militaries that wish to do so may convert to “the nonmilitary World Service Corps.”

The scenario envisioned by the framers of the Constitution appears something like the following. (1) During the Provisional World Government stage, the World Disarmament Agency will promote the idea of disarmament worldwide while developing specific plans for a “transitional process” in which nations can progressively disarm without feeling insecure or unduly vulnerable in the process. One key factor here has already been attempted through the UN when a treaty was reached during the 1980s in which there was a reduction of nuclear weapons and diminishment of the nuclear weapons arms race, a treaty that included inspections, relative transparency, and mutual compliance in conformity with its terms. READ MORE
