At a meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on September 23, 2026, President Donald J. Trump declared that he was deciding whether or not to “annihilate Iran.” People worldwide understood this to mean a threat to use nuclear weapons against Iran. The United States is the only nation on Earth to have used nuclear weapons to wipe out entire cities of another country, which means that such a threat is both credible and deeply immoral.
The Provisional World Parliament (PWP) absolutely condemns the use of such language and the making of such a threat—as well as the very existence of all weapons of mass destruction. The only effective alternative to the threat of nuclear war lies in establishing an Earth Federation under the Constitution for the Federation of Earth. We urge people everywhere to visit our World Parliament Website—to sign the Earth Constitution and affirm our worldwide movement toward genuine peace and justice for our endangered planet Earth.

Navi Pillay’s Nobel Prize exposed a truth Washington would rather ignore: international law is only celebrated when it condemns the weak, but fiercely attacked when it scrutinises powerful allies.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee’s decision to award the 2026 Peace Prize to Navi Pillay—the South African jurist who chaired the UN inquiry that found Israel committed genocide in Gaza—has provoked a furious reaction from Washington. Within hours, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced sweeping sanctions on the International Criminal Court as an institution, vowing to “dismantle the ICC, brick by brick” and declaring that “either the ICC will end its threats, or we will end the ICC.”
The timing is not coincidental. It is a declaration of war on the very idea that law might bind the powerful as tightly as it binds the weak.
What makes this moment so consequential is that the architecture of impunity is beginning to crack. The Global South is no longer content to petition for justice within a system designed to deny it. BRICS nations are building parallel financial infrastructure—expanding local currency settlements, developing the Cross-Border Interbank Payment System, and experimenting with digital currencies—precisely to neutralise the sanctions weapon Washington wields with such abandon.
France and Spain have renewed calls to restrict the Security Council veto in cases of mass atrocities, a proposal now supported by more than twenty countries. The monopolies on both economic and judicial power are being challenged simultaneously.
Middle powers across the Global South and the Global North—states with proud records of supporting international institutions—cannot afford to stay silent. READ MORE

It’s a lot easier for media outlets to stand by these simplistic cause-and-effect narratives when their reporting on Israel/Palestine has for so long been scrubbed of any historical context. The average news consumer would be less likely to view the October 7 attacks in Israel as isolated and unprompted acts were these acts reported against a solid background of almost 80 continuous years of Palestinians being killed, tortured, maimed, forcibly displaced and subjected to every other form of oppression under the sun by the state of Israel.
In the 23 years before October 7, according to the Israeli human rights group B'Tselem, Israel killed 7,779 Gazans—including 1,741 children—a fact that is never allowed to interfere with the conception that Israeli/Palestinian history began on that day in 2023.
Speaking truth to or about Israel remains a red line for the corporate media, but some outlets are more fanatical than others about toeing the Israeli line. The Wall Street Journal (10/7/26), for one, ran an anniversary dispatch from Tunku Varadarajan—a fellow at the neoconservative American Enterprise Institute—detailing internal debates over reconstruction at the kibbutzim attacked on October 7 and repeatedly highlighting the savagery of the attacks.
In his extended report, Varadarajan manages not one word in reference to Israel’s destruction and killing in Gaza but does find space to quote a 76-year-old Israeli woman’s comparison of October 7 to Auschwitz.

For the third week in a row, high school students across France are taking to the streets demanding more investment in their education. They want more teachers, smaller classes, decent school buildings and a public education system that works for poor and working-class students.
But their struggle comes at a moment when France faces mounting pressure to cut public spending while dramatically increasing its military budget. The question at the heart of this uprising goes far beyond education: Will France invest in its young people—or in missiles, weapons and war? Books or bombs?
What began in the Paris suburbs has spread to more than a thousand schools. On 6 October, more than 250,000 people reportedly took to the streets in demonstrations supporting the students.
The student movement is unfolding just as NATO is pressuring European governments to massively increase military spending. Under intense pressure from Washington, NATO leaders agreed in 2025 to a staggering new target: 5 percent of each member country’s GDP by 2035. At least 3.5 percent is supposed to go directly to military expenditures, with another 1.5 percent devoted to military-related infrastructure, cybersecurity and “resilience.” READ MORE

Techno-utopianism is the naive belief that technological innovation is going to create a paradise on earth for all of humanity. In the age of AI this notion has been enjoying a bit of a resurgence.
Techno-utopianism is an infantile worldview to hold in the year 2026, because it is assumes we live in some kind of children’s cartoon show with wild-haired inventors in laboratories lined with beakers and microscopes who create helpful new machines which are then either purchased by consumers on the free market or implemented by the government to make the country a nicer place to live in.
In reality, we live under a globe-spanning empire run by plutocrats and secretive government agencies who manipulate our entire society to ensure that all outcomes expand their wealth and power. They’re not interested in making the world a better place. The most powerful among them are not even simply interested in money. They are interested in dominating the planet and maintaining the political status quo which allows them to rule.
That’s what I find so off-putting about techno-utopianism: it’s a faith-based belief system which discourages humanity from changing. ... We don’t need to change our collective behavior and stop destroying our ecosystem; the superintelligent AI gods will change the world around us. ... all we need to do is passively wait around for High Tech Jesus to come and rapture us all to paradise.

Israel has no right to exist. That’s the position in international law. It has nothing to do with hatred of Israel or antisemitism.
In fact, no state – none – has a “right” to exist, including states busy extolling their democratic credentials.
Peoples have a right to exist. When that right is abused, it invariably involves very serious violations of international law – often through crimes such as apartheid, ethnic cleansing or genocide.
States, by contrast, don’t have a “right” to exist. They simply do exist as a matter of fact – until they suddenly don’t. Like apartheid South Africa. Like Rhodesia. Like Czechoslovakia. Like Yugoslavia. Like Nazi Germany.
And yet every single journalist employed by an establishment media outlet is suddenly playing dumb on this most elementary of issues. They’ve all suddenly had a collective lobotomy. They insist Israel must be the exception to the rule that no state has a “right” to exist.
Watch, for example, the BBC’s Nick Robinson berating Green party leader Zack Polanski for refusing to affirm Israel’s “right to exist”. Polanksi correctly argues instead that Israelis and Palestinians have a right to live in equality.
What these journalists are doing has nothing to do with protecting the Jewish population that live in Israel. It’s about setting in stone a highly militarised state that subjugates Palestinians, both in the occupied territories and inside Israel itself, that refuses to define its borders, that has been judged to be committing the crime of apartheid by the world’s highest court, and that is carrying out a genocide in Gaza according to a consensus of legal and human rights authorities and genocide scholars.
If apartheid South Africa had no “right” to exist, Israel has no “right” to exist either. Its crimes are far graver than apartheid South Africa’s, as the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu, a Nobel peace laureate, famously observed after he travelled around the occupied territories – and did so long before Israel started committing genocide in Gaza.
Like that other famous apartheid state, Israel must be reconstituted as a democracy so that it no longer poses a danger to the Palestinian people it has spent decades dispossessing, oppressing and now genociding. READ MORE

'You're Not Going to Get Rid of Us,' Vows Leonard Peltier Amid Trump Assault on Indigenous Rights

“We just want to be left alone,” the former longtime political prisoner said. “We don’t want to be part of a government that’s killing women, children, babies, and bombing every damn thing that they can.”
Leonard Peltier, the Indigenous activist who spent nearly half a century in prison for murders he says he did not commit before outgoing President Joe Biden commuted his sentence last year, vowed Monday that Native Americans would resist the Trump administration’s attacks on Indian rights and tribal sovereignty.
“We’re not free yet. We are in danger,” Peltier, 82, told Democracy Now! in an interview released Monday to mark Indigenous Peoples’ Day. “Trump and these organizations, they’re talking about doing away with our reservations and our treaties and everything else.”
Peltier—whose freedom struggle is the subject of a new documentary, Free Leonard Peltier, directed by David France and Jesse Short Bull—said: “Some people became greedy and selfish and murderous, and they tried to exterminate us because they wanted it all for themselves. Well, 500 years later, we’re still here, and I’m still talking, and I’m going to talk ‘til I die.”

“Should I annihilate Iran?” Thus, Spake the deranged pedophile and toddler at the recent United Nations General Assembly. It is amazing to me and, today, unfathomable that the countries of the world still tolerate the United States hosting or certainly being home to the United Nations. There is not a nation on earth, perhaps other than Israel, that is less deserving and less worthy of this honor.
The United States is the birthplace of genocide. The genocide of Indigenous Indian Americans carried out by European Americans was far and away, the most massive act of genocide in the history of the world, notwithstanding, the African Slave Trade and Slavery, or the Jewish, Armenian or Rwandan genocides.
Remember, that when Columbus arrived leading a force of two hundred infantry and twenty horsemen, with the Spaniards went twenty “bloodhounds”: big savage animals bred to pull down wild boars and bears in the forests of Central Europe. When the Indians resisted, the hounds were loosed, and the mounted men dashed in with their leveled lances. The riders killed until their horses could no longer be coaxed into a trot (Daniel P. Mannix, Black Cargoes, p.4).
In just a few generations following their first encounters with Europeans, most of the Western Hemisphere’s indigenous peoples had been exterminated. They were not serving these Genocidaires Thanksgiving dinner.
America, with this background, is not the place for world leaders to meet to discuss Human Rights, Crimes Against Humanity and Sovereignty, without one indigenous spokesperson, or representative of America’s current genocide in Palestine, the United States should not be, does not qualify to be, is not morally equipped to be, the home of the United Nations.
"Annihilation” was the thematic mantra of America’s revered founding fathers. George Washington, in 1779, ordered Major General John Sullivan to attack the Iroquois and “lay waste (annihilate) all the settlement around, that the country may not be merely overrun but destroyed” and “not to listen to any overture of peace before the total ruin of their settlements is elected” (David Stannard, American Holocaust, p.119). Sullivan did as he was ordered and reported back to Washington: “We destroyed everything that contributes to their support, turning the whole of that beautiful region from the character of a garden to a state of drear and sickening desolation” (Holocaust, p. 119). Washington approved, saying that the Indians were little different from wolves, “both being beast of prey, though they differ in shape” (p. 119). The language of Israeli politicians Ben-Gvir and Smotrich.
Or consider Thomas Jefferson, who in 1807, instructed his Secretary of War (the Pete Hegseth of his day) “… if ever we are constrained to lift the hatchet against any tribe, we will never lay it down ‘till that tribe is exterminated…in war, they will kill some of us; we shall destroy all of them” (Holocaust, p. 120). Five years later, he added that the American government had no other choice before it than “to pursue [the Indians} to extermination.” His assertion was that Indigenous Americans were to be given a choice, “to be extirpated (he used big words like this to suggest his wicked intelligence) from the earth, or to remove themselves out of Americans’ way” (Holocaust, p. 120). Why? So that we, world leaders, can meet here on your bones and ashes, at the United Nations, in New York, to discuss Freedom, Democracy, the Global Rules-Based Order, or International Law. So that we, colonial-settler-Americans, can lecture you on how governments should behave: how they should treat the people of their nation. And, to threaten you with annihilation if you don’t follow our rules.
One more noteworthy example is Andrew Jackson (whose despicable and disgusting image defaces the twenty-dollar bill). who referred to Indians as “savage dogs,” while boasting that “I have on all occasions preserved the scalps of my kill.” The same Andrew Jackson who had supervised the mutilation of 800 -1,000 Creek Indian corpses – the bodies of men, women, and children that he and his men had massacred – cutting off their noses to count and preserve a record of the dead, slicing long strips of flesh from their bodies to tan and turn into bridle reins. The same Andrew Jackson who – after his Presidency was over, still was recommending that American troops specifically seek out and systematically kill Indian women and children who were hiding, in order to complete their extermination” (Holocaust, p.121)
The near-total annihilation of the Western Hemisphere’s native people was neither inadvertent nor accidental. It was deliberate, systematic and premeditated. The same mindset expressed by the President of the United States at this year’s 2026 United Nations General Assembly concerning Iran.
"Annihilation,” (genocide, ethnic cleansing, extermination) is not new to Americans; it’s a way of life, a raison d’ etre. The United Nations should find another venue for its home.
