We have an exciting month ahead of us!
Releasing the RSVP throughout the month worked really well in August so we will be continuing to do this moving forward! Thank you to everyone who has been canceling their RSVPs or reaching out to cancel rather than no-showing!
I have received a lot of suggestions from the community and what you all would like to see on your calendar, I am finishing out my plans for the remainder of 2022. If there is something you would like to see during the upcoming months, leave your suggestions below!

DWUP Good Neighbor Month

We’re spending all of September celebrating the many good neighbors in the DWUP community, ahead of National Good Neighbor Day on 9/28. Have a good neighbor you’d like to spotlight? Submit an entry at the link below with your good neighbor story, and we’ll highlight entries throughout the month! The celebrations will wrap up on National Good Neighbor Day on 9/28, where we’ll have Good Neighbor gifts available for all nominees.
All submissions must be received by National Good Neighbor Day.

Bus Trip: Winstar Casino

Ticket Price: $17/pp
Feeling lucky? Join us for a special day trip! Tickets for the bus are $17 per person. The bus will leave from the DWUP Amenity Center on Thursday, September 15th at 9:00 am for Winstar Casino. We will depart from the Casino at 2:00 pm.
Tickets are non-refundable once purchased, if you need to cancel please find another neighbor that would like to take your place.

Labor Day Luau

We are hosting a fundraiser with the DWUP Veterans Association! Our raffle item is a "Staycation" for one night at the Westin Golf Resort & Spa in Frisco!

UNT Lecture: Air Quality

Are you a Life Long Learner? Ever wondered what determines Air Quality? What is Citizen Science and how could you contribute?
Join Dr. Liang for a lecture on Air Quality and Citizen Science. Dr. Liang is an associate professor that teaches Geospatial Science at the UNT College of Geography and the Environment.
There is an opportunity to be a part of an Air Quality Study they are conducting if you are interested!

Denton County Elections Info Session

If you are interested in hearing from your local government, this one is for you! Vince Handler, our district precinct chair, will be at the Amenity Center to introduce himself and assist with voter registrations.
Vince will cover a variety of topics including:
- Promote and facilitate voter registration
- Educate residents on current issues and candidates for office
- Provide details about upcoming election dates, times, and locations
- Connect the community with elected officials

Movement Monday: Yoga
Date: Monday, September 12
Time: 10:30am-12:30pm
Location: Amenity Center Fitness Studio
This yoga class will move your whole body through a complete series of standing poses and mat poses on the hands and knees or lying on the back. A variety of postures and movements are included for short or long holds and flows to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
Session 1 will go from 10:30am-11:30am.
Session 2 will go from 11:30am-12:30pm.

Join us for another wonderful barre class with Andrea! This class features general lower body exercises using a barre or chair to assist with balance and form. Upper body exercises include the use of light weights. Movements may be ballet or dance-inspired. Core strength and stretching exercises are typically included.
Session 1 will go from 10:30am - 11:30am. Session 2 will go from 11:30am - 12:30pm.

Chair Fitness

This chair class helps build core strength and flexibility by adapting yoga poses without the stress of getting up and down from the floor.
